I'm pretty sure I do. I just disagree. Look- people only ever do shit because of other people, no? I only survived trying to kill myself via Captain because of Fio, you're only here and not swinging for his head because of your friends, and the Captain's probably only leaving the wedding party alive because of Skulduggery. It gets easier to do the right thing when people give you a reason to do it. And Skulduggery choosing to offer a hand out again and again is probably the first reason he's had to do better in... ever.

You can keep thinking the Captain is like, inherently evil like a tiger eats meat or whatever. I'm sure that's really working for you. But I disagree. He's a person. He can choose differently. We just need to give him reason to.
