The really simplified version is that we took a clock to space and it was set to the exact same time as one left on Earth. And yet, the one in space moved slower than the one on Earth. It wasn't by a lot. But the problem is, the faster your velocity in space, the more dramatic the time difference. I have no idea how fast I was going inside that wormhole. I have no idea how that effects me relative to Earth's passage of time. For all I know, what feels like three years in space could be ten years on Earth. I'll never know until I get there."
