The sounds are worrying, and she's hoping that's just sticks breaking as he takes off behind the bushes. It's not like Ava yet knows what a body being ripped apart sounds like to differentiate. But she keeps the promise, doesn't go check on where he went off to.

The cat that comes back out is much larger than she expected, and Ava gives a bit of a startled gasp and almost scrambles backwards. But the cat doesn't seem to be threatening at all, isn't growling or showing its teeth or claws at her like she'd expect of something wanting to eat her. And as he flops over, she decides he's friendly after all and slowly comes just a bit closer. "Kitty kitty..." she puts her hand out and it is trembling just slightly.
