[OPEN] Colourless Colour
Who: Murderbot and friends other people
When: Late May to early June, before the shore expedition
Where: Library, Photos at Sea, the Windjammer
Summary: Murderbot gets in touch with its artistic side
Warnings: None
1. Been dreaming of blue skies, new horizons and sights from my eyes [Library]
Murderbot has been in here for a couple hours by the time it's discovered, a pile of books around it. Some children's books and young readers, some older classics. The theme seems to become clear only after a little time looking through the books; it's looking only at ones with illustrations. It seems to be seriously studying the artwork, the expression on its face not entirely unlike a law student studying for the bar exam.
Clearly, this is your cue to bother it. If you know it well, you may even notice it's wearing a different hoodie than normal, in a dark purple with some sort of logo or insignia on the front. Peri--something. From this angle, the whole thing can't be seen.
2. The discovery of the unknown is something to tell the folks back home [Photos At Sea]
Part two of its studies is to study poses, and luckily there's a whole library of stock photography on the ship, even if all the pictures were taken without the subjects' consent or foreknowledge. However, Murderbot does not truly understand people at all, judging by its reaction to the pictures it's seeing.
"What were you even doing here?" It holds up a picture of your character, a baffled look on its face.
3. I want to get away, to feel the sun on my skin to feel it really sinking in [Windjammer Buffet]
And now, the final act of this comedy, Murderbot sitting alone at a table in the buffet. Before it, a media player, propped up, the encouraging voice of Bob Ross reminding it that there's no mistakes, just happy accidents. In front of it, a journal with alternating black and white pages, and a pack of 12 metallic gel pens. The journal is open to a fresh, lovely blank page.
And it can't figure out where or how to begin. It almost looks frozen.
It's wearing another new sweatshirt, by the way. Black, with the words "PreservationAux Survey Team" in a quirky font in teal green text across the front.
4. We wanted to play, but we had nothing left to play for [Wildcard]
darkersolstice or darkersolstice#9463 as usual if you want something else.
