[open] a place called home

Who: Fio (and her stuffed animals are in some prompts) and YOU!
When: September Event
Where: Various places on the ship. Mainly the Windjammer, Playback, Bellona Theater, and the Sports Deck.
Summary: Fio under the flower effects of Forget-Me-Nots and Angel's Trumpets, with a pinch of Sea Lavender. Wildcard option available.
Warnings: Very likely there will either be mention or implications of her canon death.
Notes: I default to brackets, but I'll match.

[ It's while Fio's spending time in the library that she first spots the flowers. She doesn't think anything of it at first. Not if it's suspicious or dangerous. She's happy to finally see what she assumes are real flowers. Sliding from her chair, she runs excitedly to examine the patch of flowers growing near the bookshelves. It makes her even happier to realize they look just like the flower on her pendant... ]

■ A. Forget-Me-Nots - OPEN

[ Judith and Calcite, her stuffed animal guardians, are completely absent. The only source of comfort for the little girl is a plush rabbit. Where did it come from? Her family had been too poor to purchase any gifts in her lifetime. And what are these clothes? Why does she even own a flower pendant? They're far too... nice for someone like her to be wearing. Though it's only a black jumper dress with a long sleeve blouse layered underneath, even something as simple as that is what she considers far too pretty to wear. She should be wearing thin rags, a collar, and a pair of manacles to indicate her poor status.

Her throat isn't dry, neither is her body aching all over. Her stomach doesn't hurt. She can walk. She's alive, somehow. No one could have rescued her, because it would have already been too late.

Where is this place? It clearly isn't the massive stone towers of The Cage. Wherever this boat is, it doesn't look like a place she belongs. She shouldn't have nice things, because she's a lowly "Goat Person." This isn't her home. She doesn't have one because society rejected her. She doesn't belong here or anywhere. In a confused daze, she explores the ship, looking upon everything with fascination. And she wanders with fear, afraid of what people might think when they see her.

i. In the buffet, she gathers up a few apples and immediately goes into hiding behind the tables, as if it's necessary to steal here.

ii. In Playback, she can be found staring wide-eyed at the bright lights. Until a loud announcer voice coming from one of the machines causes her to jump and run to an empty corner.

iii. In the theater, she steps onto the empty stage and starts doing simple ballet steps and twirls. Giggling, she's having a good time playing on her own. As soon as she notices someone watching, she bolts away to hide behind the curtain.

(...Are you very clearly human? There's a high likelihood that she'll be wary around you. Around the more nonhuman types, she'll still be cautious, but curious!) ]

■ B. Angel's Trumpets (and a hint of Sea Lavender) - OPEN

i. Sports Deck

[ She's brought out a small miniature ship model of the Tartarus out to the sports deck. Gifted by Natsuno and originally from Jade. She's lived here long enough to realize something's happening to the ship. The flowers... Sparkles tried to warn her, which she realizes now. The effects grow more difficult to avoid as the flowers increase over the days. Phantoms from her past begin to appear. Sometimes it's one person. Or two at once. Or more than that. Their images flicker in out with static like a glitch:

"If you had our genes, you'd have grown into a frightful beast just like us. I hate it when you rub our differences in my face!" Her adoptive mother. A woman with dark hair, wearing a collar and a pair of manacles.

"The only food you deserve to eat is garbage." The townspeople. Their attire seems to come from the medieval era, a mix of Nobles and Commoners. She remembers the stall keeper stepping on a piece of fruit in front of her face...

"Gross! Get away from me! I don't know you!" Her friend from ballet classes. Former friend.

"Where've you been lately? We miss you! You've been so much happier here. It makes me sick. No Goat person should smile. Ever." The Commoner girl and band of friends that bullied her in the town square. ...Fio never had the chance to get her back. She was so close. That night, she desperately wanted to burn everything down. Wait, when was she overcome by such dark thoughts? Why is a memory like that resurfacing?

At first, she stands perfectly still and endures their words. And then, Fio skillfully aims the ship's guns at the phantoms. Though she lets out a few sniffles, she's not going to let a bunch of words break her into tears. Holding down a button, she sends a barrage of pellets. Some phantoms flicker away after being hit, only to later reappear. She doesn't stop, steering the ship to fire away as if she's playing a game. ]

I'm... I'm a good kid. A lot of people love me for who I am.

[ If one manages to get into the ship's line of fire, Fio will suddenly stop and dip her head in apology. The tiny lasers luckily aren't strong enough to do any damage to a person, only giving a ticklish, prickling sensation. ]

ii. Playback

[ She can also be found in the arcade as the flowers' effects persist. Hopefully it's not long until it wears off. As much as she dislikes the loudness of the machines, she prefers the sound over the phantoms' voices. And she tries to focus all her attention on playing on one of the machines. ]
