Death takes us before hunger (OTA)

Who: Wilson and you
What: Flower nonsense
When: Middle of September or so
Where: In the halls, Stellar, Sundries
Warnings: Flower nonsense (angel's trumpets, pansies, honeysuckle, golden wattle, geranium, there's technically a protea in there but it's not doing anything, super leaf, dandelion, titan arum and baby's breath cancelling each other out - this is just what's affecting Wilson, it doesn't have to get your character too)

1. Here's a toast; a life as a ghost is better than most (Stellar)

It may be because the geraniums were the flower he made contact with first, or maybe this is just a Higgsbury brand bad idea, but Wilson's plucking flowers as he goes down the hall and weaving himself a garland. He doesn't even need it when he has the Tam O'Shanter, but he thinks they look nice, and it reminds him of that one time when he was on the hunt for Maxwell and he had plenty of flowers but very little spider silk to keep the hat in good repair. A protea flower here, a golden wattle there, a pansy to go with them. He can't get the titan arum growing in the stairwell loose and the smell of it makes him regret tugging on it; there's also a clump of little white flowers sprouting up from underneath it, the effects of the baby's breath almost but not quite cancelling each other out.

He realises (thanks to the honeysuckle he added) before he gets to the Promenade that he's incredibly hungry, so he makes a detour to Stellar, the closest dining establishment; he's joined on his trip there by a lizard-like little shadow. His clothes feel strange, maybe because he's three inches taller than usual but also because of the raccoon tail sticking out of the small of his back, and then he tries to pick a dandelion and finds himself losing contact with the ground.

Now he's stuck on the formal dining room's ceiling, wearing the world's most inadvisable flower crown, and flailing around trying to climb the ceiling lamps to get within reach of the food. His mouth isn't open and yet he's producing a stream of muttered complaints and curses, he's glowing from the inside, he has raccoon ears and the aforementioned tail, and a shadow creature is staring at him. At least it's just one of the ones that watch and not one of the ones that attack.

"– almost got it- okay, maybe I do not in fact almost got it- that's probably not a real shadow, well, they're not very real to begin with, but less real than usual–"

2. In a violent haze under the streetlights' gaze (Sundries)

Some time later, Wilson finds out that he has a Sundries delivery, which turns out to be a moderately large wooden crate with an orange-and-black scale pattern painted on the sides. He can't resist opening it right then and there, which is how he finds out that it's full of gems, gold, inscribed paper, smaller packages in butcher paper with a distinctly meaty smell and texture when prodded, and one large rolled-up piece of Dragonfly skin. Someone killed a Dragonfly, and the Erda sent him the proceeds.

He discovers while trying to cart it away that the loot doesn't quite fit in his inventory, exceeding the available space by just a stack or two, and every time he tries to pick up the crate his backpack falls off. You might see him taking an eyebrow-raising number and variety of things in and out of his pockets trying to determine if there's anything he doesn't mind leaving here with the possibility that he'll forget it, or poring over a blueprint for a dragon-shaped furnace.

Or, to those he knows slightly better, foisting a handmade pickaxe, a pair of what appear to be gold nuggets, or a piece of paper covered in sketches of a giant fire-breathing fly into their hands with a "Can you hold this?".

It's possible that that shadowy phantom is still hanging around, too.

3. Tonight we sail to the edge of the world (Wildcard)
