"Yes," Watson says wryly. "I am, aren't I? I haven't any real explanation for it, which is deucedly frustrating, but I am also not sure what else I'm meant to do in this position." He shrugs. "It is clear to me that the rules here are... not what they ought to be. I can only attempt to work out what the rules here are."
