Your misery and hate will kill us all / So paint it black and take it back
WHO: Izzy Hands and you, unfortunately.
WHAT: November catch all
WHEN: Mid November+
WHERE: Various
WARNINGS: The return of Izzy fucking Hands. ATTN: Izzy's new canon point is POST S2E8. He is full spoilers inc. Major Character Death, loss of limbs, talk of grievous bodily harm, and a new fun drinking problem! All right there for you under the cut.
There he is...
Was. Forever will be, as long as Izzy Hands is concerned. Not that he has much say in anything. No, it's far too late for that now.
That's the funny thing about dying. That's the funny thing about dying for someone else, if that's what he chooses to believe. It's something he swore he'd never do, and yet... it makes the abject horror of a chance happening, a lucky shot, a stray bullet, that little bit less harrowing. That it meant something. That the greatest swordsman in the Caribbean chose to go.
He did, in a way. Choose to go. Go where...now there's the question. Serena Eterna wouldn't have been his first choice, no. He didn't remember she existed for starters, never mind the months he spent aboard her. But life is full of funny things. Moments. Choices.
Most poignant amongst them are the choices on your behalf.
Izzy Hands, master swordsman, legendary pirate, died in the arms of Edward Teach...
...and awoke in the blinding sunlight of day, aching, disoriented, and fighting a mix of adrenaline, fear, and sorrow.
-
1. Room 136 - closed to Karkat.
Pain, would the the first thing to nudge against Izzy's ribs as he wakes with a sudden hiss - the newest, and almost certainly unwanted inhabitant of the ship and this particular cabin. The soft rocking of a ship is familiar. The softness of a modern sofa and well insulated walls are not.
Old and aching, he drags his hands, shaking and blood crusted, through his disheveled graying hair and takes a long, rattling breath. There's a pain in his side but it's nothing like the roar it just was.
Just was.
He remembers that immediately and moves a hand to his side, the other carefully falling over his eyes. He isn't the fearful type, but he is scared in this instance, fingers searching his left side for gore. He finds holes in his clothing and tenderness in his body, but nothing actively bleeding. That's new.
Then, and only then does Izzy let out a soft hiss from between clenched teeth.
2. Bobby B's OTA
Presumably, he's alive. Or dead and this is a joke. Regardless, Izzy has procured a very full bottle of whiskey and a packet of rolling tobacco. He is half slumped in a comfortable chair, with his lower half obscured by the table, but he doesn't look comfortable as he sits facing the door and large windows. He looks miserable, actually. Miserable, drunk, and only half focused on people watching. Can't really blame him.
3. Various, dealer's choice on common areas. OTA
At some point he will drag his drunk ass up and set to exploring the ship. Granted, it's taking him a little bit longer to get around these days on account of having the one leg, but we persevere. He is still strangely quiet as he gets around, but you might occasionally hear the soft beat of silence, thump, silence, thump, silence, thump. Wood. It's wood you're hearing. His wooden left leg in the shape of a horse's - painted brilliant gold in sharp juxtaposition to his black, familiar leathers. You may seem him struggling a little bit. It's fine, it's new. Just don't. If you're very lucky you might see him standing at the very most bow of the ship, like an old figurehead, or lurking dear the door to the sportsdeck looking like he's not quite able to make himself go inside.
