It's impossible to fathom a world where someone is thankful to have seen him, or know of him. Arthur expressed gratitude for knowing him, yes, but those moments came between cruel words and hard reminders of how much worse Arthur's life had been with him in it.

But does he tell this woman that? She obviously found some comfort in his familiarity. Would she still see it in the truth?

His eyes fix on the shard in her head. Just for a second, but it lingers in his mind just the same.
