He does indeed have the friendship bracelet. It's still tied tight around his wrist, and admittedly it might be the thing that reminded him of Darcy's existence in the first place. A permanent reminder that he's been here, that he's still here, even when his memories feel unreal and distorted.

Darcy's tether being a weapon shines a brighter light on her as a whole. Her temper and the way she strikes out, parrying concern with hardened defenses -- of course she always carries a sword. She is a sword, double-edged as any good weapon might be.
