More than one party had been lost to the alligators that way. At least that is not an issue here.

"We must make do. At least my small stature is helpful when it comes to tailoring garments." Claudia makes a distasteful face. She does not enjoy sewing. In case Skullduggery missed it, no, they do not sell 1860s day-dresses in miniature on the ship...especially not made of Hawaiian shirt fabric. (A navy-based print for the dress, an orange-based print for accentuating ruffles, and it does clash a fair bit.) She lacks a proper crinoline but she's approximated the correct skirt shape with several ruffled petticoats made of repurposed sheets.
