Skulduggery spends the majority of the ride down trying to spot imagined constructs as they ride through the atrium; a sort of psychological Where's Wally to test his own mental acuity. He barely notices Darcy's discomfort, and when he does, he mostly attributes it to her not wanting to have a long, drawn-out conversation about the captain. He is, after all, prone to doing that whenever the man is mentioned.
