And before I even argue At some point when there's fewer people around (but not no people, because otherwise this would be a shitty premise for a thread), Murderbot's going to go to the jukebox and attempt to play each song once, in order, so it can record the songs for its memory banks. Clearly, its just vibing with the chance to pick up new media.
"You know, Jinx put speakers into some of my drones. Next time someone throws a party, we could play this music for everyone."
3. He is looking out the window Murderbot has been on planetary surveys to desert worlds before, but never with any leisure time. The second time it passes through the metal detector and every time after that, it brings its journal and gel pens, and finds a place outside the diner to sit, sketching the landscape in the silly little metallic shades it has on hand, and perhaps a few crayons borrowed from Fio.
Its drawings aren't perfect, but as Bob Ross said, there aren't any mistakes, only happy accidents. And it's not like it's doing this for anyone who'd be judging it. These are for itself, capturing the colors of the scenery.
If you're a driver, perhaps it might be kind to offer to take it to the makeout lookout point, where the scenery can be viewed from another angle. Or maybe you're near the diner and just admiring its work.
