basically, unsupervised teenagers are trying their best to become as much of the captain's worst nightmare as jade's. sure, she's much more keenly focused on natsuno and every morbid tidbit he has to share, especially when they all slot alongside her own newfound knowledge. but jade continually pipes up — butts in — and clarke almost rolls her eyes until he does his part contributing fascinating hypothetical outcomes of pirate jenny's visit. the ultimate culmination of their guests' visit hadn't been a question at the forefront of clarke's mind, but when he mentions drastic measures and jenny's inevitable departure, she's got to wonder — were they going to sink a fourth time?

there's still not a twinge of guilt here, not really. that could come later. but she'll do the favor of pointing directly at his glasses, since there's a descent vantage point from where she was still seated on the floor.
