They're brushing dangerously close to the whirlpool that is Clarke Griffin's commitment to I bear it so they don't have to, and she's the one who unwittingly steered them into these waters. Leadership, as was foisted upon her, ended up being more than pulling levers to burn hundreds of people alive and making lists. A good deal of it was sacrificing every human need and creature comfort for the sake of others, be it waving off medical attention or standing in front of an executioner asking to be put in the place of the doomed. And when that's escalated to willingly staying behind in a firestorm of radiation so the last few people on Earth she cares about can make it to safety, it's long since become a habit. One impossible to break. So, yes. Pal's wrong, because her well being isn't important in the slightest.

But before Clarke can even formulate a proper response with no room for argument to his first point, they're seemingly slipping past it into an older debate. Because she knows immediately and without question exactly what he means here.

Some of the air in her lungs lets out, an aggrieved but resigned sigh. And examination seemingly complete, she's standing and pushing the chair back towards the desk. So they're doing this...

"Of course it is. But there's still a point where you just have to close the doors and go."
