Sun Tzu? [Was he a monk? She can't imagine Nobunaga following any of the rules of any monk. He does have a point about the rest of it, though. Ari carries more than one spare power cell around with her, and she's lightning-quick at changing them out if she has to, because she knows that if her gun stops working, in the kind of combat situation she finds herself in, she would be effectively powerless.]

I don't want to end up in debt to strangers on this ship, but you and I could - if you teach me, in return I'll let you borrow my slate computer, and you can watch the holovids or read the sector histories or whatever you'd like. [A small smile.] But you've got to be honest with me, Oda. If I'm not suited to it, you'll tell me, and don't pretend I'm better than I am because if I believe you, that might get me killed. [She really has internalised that early message, Lowell from security laughing and telling her not to bother even trying.]

I think you'll like the holovids. Shuttle crashes happen for a lot of reasons, but the ones you'll be seeing are so stupid that I have to think it was because their pilots were drunk - and For the Company is fiction, but it's a serial drama about the lives of a Director and his family - the fortunes of them and their rivals, and the business of the Company. Again, not entirely accurate, but the inaccuracies are amusing. It's seeing what people from the outside think of Company families, really. I don't know how much will translate, culturally, but I enjoy it. I think it'd be fair contract, trading all that for the martial arts basics.
