scoping the joint
Who:: Theo Crawford, and unfortunately for him, you!
What: An out of sorts newbie explores ship, who complains and asks a lot of questions
Where: Deck, Promenade, Casino, Cabin (locked for Chase Collins)
When: late November
[ooc: Going to reset from the test drive meme since it was awhile ago that I did that. Thanks!]
1. Deck
[After an explosion of questions at Friday and the unsatisfactory answers post-fire drill, this new arrival is staring out over the water, with hands tightly gripped to the railing. A painfully thin and pale teenager in a black suit and small backpack stands with an expression of bewilderment, the lovely sea breeze loosening his combed-back red hair.
This is not what he was expecting. Not at all. He expected to wake back up on some other prison ship. A space ship. This wasn't prison, this wasn't in space. How did he get here? Should he really be looking this gift horse in the mouth?
If you don't catch him just staring in confusion over the water, he'll be looking through his phone. It's different from the tablets they had on the Peregrine, but he gets the idea. No contacts listed, but that means no prisoner/warden pairings either. Was anyone else from the Peregrine here, or was he truly free of them all? He mutters a quiet "Holy shit." to himself before stopping the next person who walks by.]
Hey. Have you been here long?
2. Promenade
[Theo's never seen anything like this ship in his short little life, and he's seen quite a bit. Decked-out cruise ships are past his timer back home. This whole place is a bit overwhelming to the senses, and he's pretty sure he doesn't like it already. There are a few times where he lingers outside of one of the bars probably a little too long as he considering entering, before hustling along to see what else is around. The arcade gets his attention as he tries to figure out exactly what all these games are. Maybe you can help out this confused kid who doesn't seem to understand how Time Crisis or crane games work.]
3. Fate's Design
[The casino seems to make the least sense out of everything he's seen so far today. Playing games dealt by invisible dealers (or magic, maybe), to win chips that you can't cash anywhere because money doesn't seem to exist here. If anyone is in here is actually bothering to play something like the slots, Theo is just going to have to ask about it.]
Can I ask you something? Why are you even bothering with this?
4. Cabin - locked to Chase
[When he finally makes it back to his assigned cabin, Theo isn't thrilled to find he has to share the small space with another human being. At least it seems to be someone about his age. This was still way better than the prisoner's shared dorm, so he'll take it.
How exactly are you supposed to act in this situation? Somehow this felt more awkward than the Peregrine. At least on that ship, everyone knew how and why they got there.
He tries to enter quietly, and regards his new roommate with a bit of suspicion. Try not to take it too personally though, Chase. He's like that with most people at first.]
Ah. Hey. Guess you're the guy stuck with me.
