Time still goes on, through each life of misery
Who: Yatogami & You (OTA)
What: He got hurt and he needs to recover
When: First couple weeks after the excursion
Where: The deck, primarily
Warnings: Yato is not sorry. Could be talk about just anything related to his excursion or his past considering he's tipped his hand spectacularly in a fit of pique. If it comes to his past, it's a minefield, I'll update the warnings.
I. Closed for business.
[To those who have had the chance to meet Yato and his everlasting commitment to staying alive and helping people, it’s a contrast that he doesn’t jump to his feet with energy, misplaced or not, and offer a huge smile, trying to sell his services for his survival.
In fact, Yato appears to be stretched out on a deck chair, unmoving. He’s not dead of course, he is breathing, but he’s not exactly jumping to catch anyone’s attention, mostly due to the fact that the Captain nearly crushed him in his stubborn refusal to prostrate himself. He looks pale too, his hand curled on his chest because things with Nobunaga weren’t great and while he should try and fix that so he’s not being afflicted, he’s choosing not to.
Either he’s awake and staring into space, mentally cycling through several topics that come to mind, or his eyes are closed and he’s ignoring the fact someone has approached. His favourite ones surround his many failures as of late, prior to his arrival on board, this one is just icing on the cake. That and of course, the Captain aimed a perfectly placed verbal shot at him, giving him a somewhat melancholy aura. If people linger, he’ll open one eye to see who they are.
It doesn’t matter really, they’ll all get the same soft spoken response.]
I’m closed. Bring your wishes to me another time.
[If this leads to his death, at least he will have fought back in the moment, but it probably wouldn’t. There’s several people who would remember him...perhaps many considering the kerfuffle he caused at the trial. He cannot help anyone right now, but he can carry a conversation about many topics including why the heck was Nobunaga a gunblade, where did that come from? Why did he antagonize the captain? What kind of god of fortune gets ruthless and emits a terrifying aura?...and many more, because for the foreseeable future, he will probably be lying around on the deck.]
II. Perchance to Dream
[Yato spends a fair amount of time actually sleeping on the chair, does he ever go into the cabin? No, not really. For one thing he’s in a lot of pain and he doesn’t want to deal with his roommate who cannot remember who he is. It’s not his fault, but it’s a lot right now.
Catching him actually asleep is not that difficult, despite the fact he doesn’t sleep that much usually. Those in tune with that kind of thing would know he’s having nightmares. The winter makes him think of Yukine.]
Come back...come back Yukine...please...[He’s whispering, pleading. He has always been one to speak in his sleep.]
[Perhaps even more unfortunate, is that going from snow to what is decidedly not winter on the cruise ship leaves him dreaming of his usual spring nightmares. The name he speaks is not one he’s mentioned before.]
I wanted to make you happy, Sakura.
[Either dream right now is accompanied with nothing but anguish and self hatred, his peaceful rest completely disturbed, and for the moment he’s spared the worst dreams. Sometimes he snaps his eyes moment after his drowsy ramblings, sucking in a sharp intake of breath and then exhaling, eyes haunted.]
III. Wildcard-ish?
[Yato got hurt on the excursion due to his stubbornness in facing off with the Captain and refusing to bow to him until the Captain made him. Enough weight to actually make him do so was applied to his shoulders and he held out in defiance, leading to crushing injuries from his shoulders down so he kind of hurts everywhere, meaning that fun activities for the moment are kind of off the table. There is however nothing wrong with his mouth or ears, so he can be asked about any number of things, lectured, scolded, praised...whatever it is people feel. If they even remember him, that is. He can probably be dragged somewhere, possibly somewhere with a lot of alcohol but choices for the next couple of weeks are limited as he heals.
He has not asked anyone to help him in any way, he’s metaphorically licking his wounds.]

III. Someone called for a Doctor?

"That's me." He didn't move to sit up though.
"I did...but like I told him it will heal over time if there's nothing you can do I wouldn't worry about it."
no subject
"But if you don't want help, well, heh, you wouldn't be the first to say no, believe me."

Tendi gives him a bit of a quizzical look. "I mean, some people think it's important to feel pain, but I've never really understood that. Suffering isn't inherently noble in my opinion. Sometimes it just hurts."
no subject
"You can try, I just don't know if it would work."
no subject
Tendi takes her Tricorder and begins to move it over Yato. "Ok, let's see what we have...looks like mainly muscle and tendon injury, no bone fractures. Nothing that would have permanently damaged you, luckily, looks like a huge force was pressed on you. I can fix some of the tears, but some of them are just strain injuries."
Tendi takes out her dermal regenerator, holding it out. "So you want me to give it a go, or nope?"
no subject
He'd probably healed a little bit then, not that the pain had faded much. If not, he should've held out longer. If it happened again, he would.
"Sure, go for it." It sounded like it would help some, and he'd be grateful for that.
no subject
"This is pretty much what I can do here, more generic bodily harm. I can't fix a eye or radiation poisoning or anything like that, but if you get stabbed or cut? That I can get you fixed up in no time."
no subject
He meant that genuinely. "Getting crushed was a new one for me."

Tendi finishes up her sweep, Yato's shoulders feeling much better, the stiffness and pain is now almost gone. "I mean, what on earth did the Captain want you to do that you took such a hard line? Did he try to get you to kill someone or something like that?"
no subject
"He wanted me to bow down to him." It was his pride, certainly, on the line, but he was a fairly old god, he did not bow down to lesser beings because they demanded it.

"It feels a lot better, thank you. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"I've worked on plumbing, changed tires, that kind of thing. Mediated interpersonal conflicts..." It was the kind of thing that people prayed for help with in his world.

That would be an easy enough job. He was okay at spreading the word when he wanted to be.

"I know how to bandage things." Yato said. That was about it though. "I've gotten hurt before." That was likely unsurprising.
no subject
"I don't want you thinking that the doctors are the important ones, without the emergency techs, we wouldn't get a chance to really heal people you know?"
