1. Some girls are just born with glitter in their veins (Sundries) - OTA

Well, he’s gotten that ‘you’ve got mail’ heads up and, considering last month and the fact that he keeps knocking things over unhelpfully when his emotions are heightened, Klaus is super anxious about it. They pause as they get to Sundries, spotting the packages marked for them. “Why is that one so big?” That’s what she said.

Well, it’s decided that this one needs to be the first open. When he sees the painting, there is the briefest of pauses before laughter. Who chose this facial expression? Why is it amazing? What?

Someone else needs to see this immediately. Which means the next person that walks even remotely close by is getting a quick, “You have to see this! Please. I need to know I’m not imagining it!”


2. I don’t really think, I just walk - closed to Ava

“Aaaaaavaaaaaa!!!!!” Because Klaus isn’t sure if she’s out and about or in her room, so they are gonna be loud and annoying in case she’s out. Mostly because, while nothing said this tracksuit was Ava’s, there’s stars and also it’s in her signature color: gray.

Well, if she’s not out and about, they’ll eventually go to her room.

3. This is Earth. Isn’t it hot? (Pool) - OTA

Now that he’s gotten the whole velour tracksuit thing going for him, Klaus is levitating by the pool, the top of the tracksuit around his waist as he’s got his That’s Hot crop top on. They’ve even got a pair of oversized sunglasses from Sundries to go with the whole look. It’s the Paris Hilton vibe he never knew would ever want.

Now just to have the focus to even manage telekinesis. “Why is this so hard to do? Is this gonna require more meditation?” It’s a light complaint as he lays back, still levitating and throwing a hand over his face. Woe!

At first she's not sure that yelling is meant to be her name, and so she ignores it. But then she hears it again, and... has to admit that it's probably her that somebody is quite insistently looking for. Though a glance down at her phone reveals no text alerts. Hm..

Ava drifts through the walls and closer to the sound, and as she comes closer she's able to recognize the voice as belonging to Klaus. Which she should have been able to guess.

Before Klaus is able to make it to her room, though, she pokes her head out from the wall next to him to tap Klaus right on the shoulder. "Yes?"

Klaus jumps, nearly screaming even though they're used to Ava popping up out of nowhere. It always gets him anyway. Once his heart stops beating ridiculously fast, they look over at her a little more clearly and says, "Oh. There you are. I have a present for you!"

They hold up an opened package from Sundries.

It's not that she outright means to startle anyone with her sudden appearances, but she doesn't not mean to do it either. She giggles quietly while Klaus recovers, and then peers at the package that they present.

"It's already open," Ava points out, which doesn't prevent her from curiously reaching inside anyway. The holidays are over so it feels weird timing to receive a gift from somebody else.

"Well, yeah, it's already open. I thought it was for me, but it's not my color." Not that gray is technically a color exactly, but that's not important. "It's also not my size, so that would have made it a lot more awkward. But I think you're gonna like it. It's basically the same as mine, but...the color's different."

"Oh, it's soft..." is Ava's first impression as her fingers close around the velour fabric, and she brushes her fingertips over it a few times before pulling out the very grey sweatshirt. Her (lack of) color, indeed. But a very pretty shade of it.

"There's holes..." is her second impression, as she then pokes her fingers inside to investigate, and realizes that they're not only deliberate design choice but also shaped like "oooh, stars." Ava looks more intrigued by the strange shirt the more she looks it over.

"Wait, you have a matching one?" Ava asks, glancing at what Klaus is wearing at that moment and it doesn't seem to be the same.

[busball]

"I know, right?" Klaus remembers that being exactly his first thought, too. So soft.

"Yeah! Stars!" They glance down at their outfit for a moment before looking back up. "I do! It's not here. It's black, though. Oh! And I got two crop tops if you want to borrow either. I think these are like...Paris Hilton tracksuits? Or people that like her cause the one shirt says That's Hot and the other is like...Boss Babe. So that's...definitely something."

Paris Hilton is that sort of celebrity where Ava doesn't even know exactly what they do or why they're so famous, just that she knows that they are. And that she carries around a little dog in a purse, which seems like inspirational goals.

Oh, and something about a leaked sex tape.

But none of that matters, because "this is the coolest shirt I've ever seen," she tells Klaus excitedly. And then turns around and disappears, so that she can change into it right then and there.

Klaus is waiting for her to come back from changing, humming as he does. "We should take pictures of our matching outfits sometimes. I bet we could make Peter take it for us!"

[decohere]

"Oh, absolutely," Ava agrees with a giggle as she fades back into view in her new fabulous velour sweatshirt, her other balled up in her grasp.

"Pictures?" she pouts. "I'm not good at taking pictures." Avoiding cameras has been her personal policy.

[busball]

"Yeeesss. That's the best! It looks cute!" There's a small smile at that.

When she pouts, they pout back. "Just one? I don't even have to show anyone. It'll be cute and we'll be matching! Our singular sibling picture." They won't push it if she seems bothered by it, though.

[decohere]

She can't stop petting her hands down her sides, and then up again, watching the subtle shift of color change with the direction of the pile. She giggles. And it's enough to put her in a good mood to finally agree. "Fine. Just one. But you can't do the whole bunny ear thing to me."

[busball]

“Yessssss. This is the best day!” Klaus is about to be sad they didn’t bring it when they remember they live right next door. “Hold, please.” They are gonna slip in their own room the normal way before coming out in their matching sweatshirt.

Ava waits patiently outside the door, idly rocking from foot to foot. Glancing down the hall to see if anyone's coming or going. Rolling up the cuffs of the sleeves up past her wrists to see if it's more comfortable before unfolding them back down almost covering her fingers. Maybe she can cut a hole for her thumbs, like she's done so many of her others.

When Klaus returns, Ava perks up, checking out the matching sweater indeed. "Does this make us fashionable?"

Klaus laughs at the question, turning around so she can see it. "I mean...duh. Of course we're fashionable. Everyone's gonna be so jealous of us. They aren't gonna know what to do with themselves."

Okay, right. "These phones take pictures, right?"

"They do," Ava says, taking out her own to show Klaus the camera function. She knows Klaus came from a world without mobile devices, but she is surprised they haven't taken full advantage of that feature yet.

"And when you take pictures of yourself, it's called a selfie. But you have to keep in mind that the focal length of a phone camera actually distorts your features. You're going to be like, wow, is my nose really that big?" she pokes said nose. "And the answer is no. Although you have longer arms, so the farther you hold it away the better it looks."

Klaus hasn’t really needed to take pictures but now that he knows for sure how to take them, he totally will.

“Oh! That make sense.” He laughs a little at the comment about his nose. “I mean, I guess it’s a little big, but I’ll keep that in mind.” He takes out his phone and puts it out a little ways so he can see both himself and Ava. Do you want a picture on your phone, too, or just for me to send you this one?”

[decohere]

She flickers and fades at the sight of herself, trying to duck a bit more behind Klaus in the frame. "You can send me this one..."

[busball]

Klaus reaches out to ruffle her hair. "It's okay. It's just us seeing it anyway. Don't be so nervous." But they want to take the picture that shows them in their matching shirts. Which is hard if she's hiding behind them. "I'll take it quickly and then we'll be done, okay? But we gott see our matching stuff.

[decohere]

Her attempt at an annoyed pout is ruined by her grin as she swats away at Klaus's offending hand. "Hey, you're messing my hair up," she protests, despite the fact her hair being already quite rumpled from the impromptu shirt changing. She tries to smooth it out in the reflection of the phone camera.

"Fine, okay... but you're so much taller... bend down a little..."

[busball]

Klaus grins widely. "You say that as if your hair has ever looked pristine." But sure. They will scrunch down just a little to make sure that they are a little closer in height. God. Will his knees ever recover? Probably, actually. It's fine.

"Okay. I won't make you smile, but I'm gonna take the picture in 3...2...1" And he's taking the picure whether she's smiling or not.

"It was when Undine..." and then she cuts off, because that's too sad a thought to finish.

She does the tiniest little bashful smile with her head only partially turned away, but the picture comes out blurry because unfortunately it's capturing her mid-flicker.

[busball]

Klaus wants to ask, but the abrupt way she cuts off makes him hesitant to ask.

Aw. It's a little blurry. They look at her in the camera. "You wanna try for something a little less blurry or do you wanna keep this one?"

[decohere]

It's just difficult still, to talk about the loss of her roommate. The feeling that she failed the young magical girl from beginning til the end. And that she's no closer to finding a way to bring her or the others any peace. Undine deserved adults that could have protected her, that she could have relied on. But at least she did get that brief moment of getting to live as a normal girl.

"Oh... I mean that is what I look like."

[busball]

Klaus hums softly. "All the time? Is that why pictures are hard? Cause you always look blurry?"

She frowns. "I guess? I don't like looking at myself all that much." She spends as little time in front of the mirror as possible while getting cleaned up in the mornings.

"Except the painting that Peter did. I like that one."
