takethatnature: Wilson frowning and curled into a ball of sulk. (sulking)

So do the toast and down the cup and drink to bones that turn to dust

Who: Wilson P. Higgsbury and you! And Demyx in the first prompt probably, and traces of April's presence!
When: First two prompts are February 17th, third and fourth are somewhere between then and the first week of March
Where: Cabins, the hall outside Windjammer, the library, Photos at Sea
Warnings: His death and/or Daisy's rampage comes up in most of these

1. Quit complaining, brother, no one lives forever (Cabin 124)

A frustrated uuuuugggghhhh emanates from the blankets at six AM sharp, followed by Wilson sitting up and pressing his hand into his face. Reviving at the crack of dawn is nothing new for him. Honestly it's more comfortable here than it was on the island, where he always felt hungover at best afterwards. What's really bothering him is how many mistakes he made fighting that awful wolf-woman from the buffet. He probably couldn't have beaten her in a fair fight when she healed that fast, and even winning an unfair fight would be a dubious proposition on their first encounter, but if he'd been smarter about it he could have at least escaped.

"Why didn't I just use the panflute," he mutters, not specifically to Demyx but not not to his cabinmate. He'd forgotten he was even carrying it after the first time she tackled him. He also should have put his armor on sooner, not that it would have helped with anything except the slashes across his chest, and maybe if he'd focused more on dodging and less on hitting her with the ice staff he could have gotten out of the way of her charge. Sloppy mistakes.

He grabs some of the supplies he stashed in the cabin, the spare helmet and his flint pickaxe and enough twigs and grass for a couple of torches. Having a completely empty inventory makes him twitchy. Someone in the hall could catch him as he leaves; there seems to be a commotion by the door of his neighbor in room 122.

2. We've only got so many tricks (Outside Windjammer)

Yesterday there was an inert, dry, bleach-white skeleton surrounded by tools, weapons, crafting materials, a few hats, a backpack designed to look like a crab, and other odds and ends on the floor here. Also an ample quantity of blood and a dried trail of tomato paste leading back to the buffet. Today there's just the assortment of items, with nothing but his empty log suit and helmet to mark the spot where he died. At least it doesn't look like anyone's taken his stuff, though it's hard to tell for sure when it's all piled together except for the backpack.

He starts picking it up. "Don't worry, it's mine."

3. You worry too much, you make yourself sad (Library)

After appearing onboard and having a mostly unhelpful conversation with Friday, Wilson eventually found himself in the library, home of a binder full of handwritten notes and records about the nature of the ship. Apparently the ocean's not real and people disappear when the Captain uses them up and he's been randomly pulled out of his timeline? And the food is actually thousands of years old? And he might wake up without his memories or kidneys if he dies stupidly? He's fairly sure he retained the most important parts, but a lot of it blurs together, because when he read through it he hadn't slept in days and what was most memorable in that state was an assortment of the most alarming and the most absurd pieces of information.

Which is why he'd like to reread it; he heads to the library, but he can't seem to find it anywhere. He's combing through the shelves looking for it, occasionally tossing a particularly frustrating book over his shoulder or dropping one on the floor. There's the photo album full of insults that he saw last time he was here; it also gets tossed on the floor. He's much more interested in the question of what constitutes a stupid death than he was before.

4. And when it's all been said and done, better that you had some fun (Photos at Sea)

Photos at Sea is full of clear sharp images of Daisy tearing people to pieces. And tiny little film projector thingies showing those moments in motion, with comical soundtracks. He got enough of that while it was happening to him, but instead of turning around and leaving he goes and rummages through the older offerings.

Way in the back shelves, there's pictures left over from December. Most of them are from the snowy lodge where half the visitors got murdered; a couple of them are of the murders. Despite how many times he and his friends back home have died he's not used to looking at violently deceased human corpses. What distracts him from that is a photo of him in the lodge he didn't go to, completely surrounded by shadows that look far too much like Them for comfort.

"What the heck..." He's holding the photo up and squinting at it, like that's going to make it make more sense.

5. Let's have a party, there's a full moon in the sky (Wildcard)

Once Wilson emerges from his Cabin he gets flagged down with a wave from the tall sword lady outside Daisy's door. She's tired as hell, but there's an empty coffee cup near her so someone's been bringing her food and drink, at least.

There's a sheathed blade resting, point against the floor, between her feet with her hand on the cross-guard. Not a hostile gesture, but that sure is a long fucking sword.

"...Congratulations my guy, that is the single weirdest thing anyone's ever known me for." Erin has completely forgotten that she was holding the fruit cup when Helena made everyone aboard Aware of Erin. "But yeah, that was me. Erin Peters, pleasure to meet you. Circumstances could be better, but..."

Look, with Steve gone, and Eddie gone, candidates for the Weird Hair Guy are at an all-time low.

"Including you? Six casualties." It's a frank admission, and saying it out loud comes with a visible slump; Erin leans back against the door. "And now I'm here in front of her door for many, many reasons, one of which is that killing her back is only going to make this happen again. I'm sorry you got done like that, my guy. I legitimately had no idea she could make someone's bones explode out of their body."

"Oh thank God." Beat. "Not that you died, just that we're not living with bone explosions. Absolutely fucking sucks that you died."

(Smooth, Peters.)

Erin sighs. "Valdis has a non-lethal option and took it, shook Daisy out the killing haze. We're looking into treatment options but...god, is it rude to say you're taking this really well? Like. Concerningly well?"

"...Maybe check on that." Erin sighs and nods her head at the door. "Daisy'll be here, if you wanna talk. Possibly don't walk in holding the giant pickaxe, but...I won't bar you."

"I mean, ain't gonna frog march you in there either." Erin shrugs, a little helplessly. "Only so much boat, yeah? No one can avoid anyone else for long."

Is this a wrap or just a time skip to get his stuff?

"She is kinda a jerk, but there's more to her," Erin murmurs, loyally. "...Hey uh. Not to be. This guy, but if you're coming back this direction could I beg ya to bring a plate when you're done eating?" Erin gestures at The Door, which she is Guarding. "...Anyway, good luck."

"Can't handle spicy stuff," Erin admits. And then she remembers what Siffleur has been up to. "Also not a huge fan of eating people just in case. That's. Being offered over there. Otherwise nah 's food, any food is good food, even bad food."

Erin takes the waffles with an expression of gratitude. "Yeah, I can dig it. And...hey, sorry we met like this but if you ever wanna talk my phone's tagged to Cabin 134, yeah?"

She steps aside from the door.
