Faith, Should I Take A Leap? [Open]

Who: Demyx and everyone, very open!
What: Memshare
When: March
Warnings: Dehumanization, cult-like behaviour, tagging and tracking, coercion, death?
Notes: No limits, go wild. Likely I have unique choices for each participant.

I. Awakening

Regardless of which situation an intrepid visitor has happened upon, whether the room was completely white, or they were outside in the dirt and dust to the point that everything looked brown, either memory begins with Demyx lying unconscious on the ground.

In the first memory, Demyx is roughly thirteen. In the second one, he looks as he does on the ship, about age twenty-one.

II. Mission Mode

The most versatile of options, this is an exclusive opportunity to visit a Disney/Pixar movie of one’s choosing. Demyx could be aged anywhere from 13-21. Missions would be either combat or reconnaissance.

III. Espionage

Considering the nature of the Organization, information has power and Demyx is far too curious for his own good. Either he’s spying on his peers or the Organization structure itself, there’s a reason why Demyx seems to know way more than he should.

This would be an opportunity to sneak around and learn some of the secrets surrounding the Organization and perhaps Demyx himself.

IV. Death

There was nothing nice about Hollow Bastion in that moment. It was run down, the damage having been done by the encroaching darkness, the shadows that seemed to be all over the place. Demyx was not immediately visible, but rather a kid named Sora, with Donald and Goofy in tow.

The mystery as to where Demyx was, is solved in an instant when he appeared out of a dark portal. He seemed startled at seeing Sora and he sighed and then turned on a charming smile.

“Hey, you guys are looking lively!”

It was immediately apparent that their relationship to each other was adversarial because Donald yelled at him. “Scram!”

The kid, Sora, looked more contemplative. “Didn’t we catch you messing around in the Underworld? How’d a wimp like you get into Organization XIII?”

Demyx seemed to take a step back, as though he was scared.

“I bet you can’t even fight.” Sora taunted him.

Donald chimed in. “Yeah, but we can!”

Even if no one interfered, it was a front row seat at the combat styling that Demyx was so reluctant to share. It wasn’t going to end well, but he wasn’t going to let them walk all over him.

V. Aftermath

After a memory experience, one might want to seek out Demyx for a conversation. It would be easy enough to find him, he was probably lounging on one of the deck chairs, sporting his brand new headphones with cat ears on them and playing with an MP3 player, lost in the music.

"Very well then." Donald gets extra rocks, fuck this duck -

Demyx's maneuver with the clones confuses Eleanor at first, but when she sees the only human (with his oddly huge shoes - what in God's name -) start whirling one to attack others she grasps that it seems imperative to the enemy to attack the clones rather than Demyx.

What's better, Shoes Man seems to be the only one who can do that little trick. Eleanor seizes him with telekinesis and yanks him towards herself, a maneuver she's had plenty of time to practice in Rapture. She has every intention of impaling Sora on her needle and draining his body into a desiccated husk.

"Oh. I was going to kill him." Eleanor reverses the telekinesis mid-yank and hits Goofy with The Entire Sora.

That blue vial's volume lowers again with a faint hiss, echoed by Eleanor hissing in violent delight. Yes, that's the stuff.

Wait a minute.

"What fool sent a pacifist to capture three mighty warriors with no support and no backup?" she says, participating in a boss fight infamous for fucking owning people.

"That's right, run you bullies! Go back to your wretched friends and tell them you lost!"

Guess who has no idea Mickey is on his way. Go on, guess.

Demyx's answer gets a little huff from inside Eleanor's helmet. She removes it and tucks it under her arm, shaking her hair out - very carefully - with a gloved hand. "One cannot treat one's people as expendable unless one has a great deal of them to expend. Quite aside from being horrible ethically, it is atrocious strategy. Weapons can be reforged, medicine renewed, bridges rebuilt, but labor? That is not replaced so easily. And destroying the world, how perfectly absurd. Who are those thugs slandering your good name?"

"Think nothing of it. I am reliably informed that friends help one another, but please, this business with Nobodies - it is a cruel idea, and quite stupid besides. You are not nobody; you are musician and a funny person, a magician, an artist, a pacifist. This business with philosophical zombies is fruitless. If you perform the actions of being a person, you are a person." Eleanor flashes Demyx a winning smile. "Though how you escaped the ship to get back to work eludes me. Were you sucked through the rift as well?"

Eleanor gestures at the memory rift that she has no idea is likely not visibly to Memory Demyx.

Because she has no idea that this is Memory Demyx.

"...We met in the pool on the ship, you showed me your water magic." Eleanor gestures at the Water. "Are you - well, Mister Demyx, whether this is a joke or you truly have amnesia of some kind, you deserve better treatment, especially from yourself. If your allies will not honor you or treat your life as valuable, perhaps it is time for new allies. This was a suicide mission, plain enough, and it will not stand."

"...While you are searching for a better class of friend, Mister Demyx, do also keep an eye out for a more dignified class of enemy. Run."

Eleanor puts her helmet back on and strides forward, conjuring fire in her hand even as she calls out: "More thugs here to hassle a peaceful man. Turn back or see your bones split on the pyre."

AFTERMAAAAAAAAATH

Sometime in the next three days or so the Demyx on the ship gets a letter on this phone.

Your Holiness,

It is my dear and sincere wish that this letter finds you well, given the circumstances of our last unexpected parting. It is also my hope that the strange amnesia you have been suffering under has been lifted from you; if not, this letter may seem very strange indeed! My condolences for the situation you had been placed in. It was cruel and wrong to place such expectations upon you.

Miss Adams said to me that to be a friend is to make an effort to be present in someone's life. It seems to me that you could use a better class of friend than the ones who gave you such a task and left you to the wolves, seemingly as a delaying action against a superior force. If you can forgive my amateur fumblings in the field of friendship, I would like to claim that title for myself, and to offer my earnest hopes that there may be many others here upon the ship who can say the same.

Do let me know when your muse strikes you. I should very much like to attend a performance sometime; your skill with that instrument in battle was astounding, and I can scarcely imagine what it might do in service to the art that stirs your soul instead. In the meantime I remain,

Your obedient servant,
Eleanor Lamb, Big Sister.
