i tried ( memshare event )
Who: clarke griffin & your poor unfortunate soul
What: memories, all alone in the moonlight
When: all of march
Where: wherever you least expect a rift in reality to open up. also space, mount weather, earth...
Warnings: general warnings for blood, violence, murder attempted or completed, genocide, maybe even gross body farming. specific prompts will have their individual warnings listed in the body of this post and any additional ones will be noted in subject headers.

CHILDHOOD ( open )
— enjoy the little things, like watching a kid commit the stupid crime of touching books. no warnings here.
SKYBOX ( karkat, number 6, & open )
— did you know clarke was in prison for a year for treason? conspiracy to commit treason? eh, best summed up as "to keep her quiet". well now you can find out! bonus points, she thinks she's hallucinating. cw: probably some dead dad/execution talk and mention of mild eugenics themes, this is dystopia space after all.
D(ropship) DAY ( rita & open )
— when 100 kids are pretty certain they're about to be prematurely executed, one or two's likely to fight back. abby griffin cameo! cw: see above warnings.
QUARANTINE ( darcy, palamedes, & open )
— witness clarke gone absolutely feral, and her first escape attempt frombody harvesters she doesn't know are body harvesters yet mount weather. cw: some self harm, blood, violence, potential body horror depending on how the thread goes.
LEVERS ( open but requires plotting )
— join clarke in committing a genocide! cw: genocide!! (also mentions of torture and body farming) this can also partially serve as a cinematic experience for your character, but please respond with some sort of reaction just so i know who saw it.
AIRLOCK 5 ( semi-closed to natsuno, but hmu ooc if you're interested )
— no one likes being faced with their demons. but sometimes those demons set up creepy music boxes and lure you into watching your friends being murdered. cw: violence, attempted (or successful! threads of fate can be changed) murder
THE CITY OF LIGHT ( open )
— when you show an a.i. a picture of the greater metropolitan new york, but she cleans it up and also makes it a hivemind that you have to infiltrate. cw: violence, some creepy hivemind shit, will warn further for anything else.
AFTERMATH ( open )
— your all purpose aftermath wildcards! wanted a memory i mentioned in the plotting post but it didn't make the cut? still available upon request! request starters or throw up your own

I can't even imagine what that'd taste like, ( she mutters mostly to herself, a hint suspicious. why would her own subconscious manifest a breakfast item she'd maybe heard of a handful of times but never actually eaten. it's weird, but not to the point she isn't going to put the chunk of muffin to her mouth.
and, long story short, it tastes good. sweet, almost too sweet, but new and amazing and, yeah, she's doing that wide-eyed wonderment thing as she chewed. same thing she'd do when eating beef stew and chocolate cake in mount weather, same thing she'd later do when finally giving up her serena eterna hunger strike and gorging on the buffet. )
...oh my god. ( god may not be a real, tangible thing, but clarke's sure as hell looking at natsuno like he's some sort of angel right now. ) Oh my god.

Sometimes guardian angels bring muffins.]
No, sugar.
[Natsuno can't help but smile faintly. He's a little sorry he hasn't got another snack in one of his many pockets, but Clarke's welcome to eat the rest of the muffin. He leans back slightly, arms stretched behind his back, palms on the floor.]
Drawing's all you have to pass the time?

name him natsuno. give him weird powers and weirder hair. befriend him. in turn show up in his memories ready to eviscerate vampires and call it a healthy, functional relationship.
clarke tilts her head at sugar as if to say really? this is sugar? it is at least, her brain's best description of sugar, as it floods all the sweet receptors on her tongue anew with every chew. this is wild and she reaches to break another piece off the muffin before she even swallows.
but, oh he's sat and he's talking? she briefly glances around at the sketches that have become so familiar they kind of blur out of everyday life like a wallpaper pattern. ) Oh. Yeah. It's not like they can give me books.
( trusting her hallucination to know all the real books are locked behind glass, and all the techpads they used in earth skills lessons are being withheld probably because they think she'd find a way to misuse them and spread information. it's spoken like a joke, and then clarke seemingly remembers he has a book in hand. )
How did you — ( right, hallucination. sorry, it's her first one ever and it's weird to suspend the concept of reality all the way down to the tiny details. so she trails off, then sort of ruefully grins. ) What book is that?

Anyway.
Natsuno was ready to say he's a time traveler, but she goes along readily enough. He holds up the book to show her.]
"The Golem and the Jinni." Ever heard of them? They're mythical creatures.
[He picked it up as part of his research about the captain, but under the lore there was a story about two very different creatures, who where lost in a new world and found each other. It... resonated.]

she watches natsuno's arm as he brings up the book, focuses on the cover and title. tries to rake her memory for anything familiar, but gives up pretty immediately and just tilts her head. )
I've heard of dragons and unicorns but... no. No idea what either of those are.
( far from put out about it though, clarke seems intrigued. the breakfast muffin is so tasty it's flooded every single dopamine receptor in her brain, she's in a great mood and can't wait to see what her subconscious makes up next to keep this conversation going. )

It's a pretty good book. We can read some if you want.
[If there's no objection, he'll scoot closer to set the book between them. The Golem's life began in the hold of a steamship. The year was 1899; the ship was the Baltika, crossing from Gdansk to New York. The Golem's master, a man named Otto Rotfeld, had smuggled her aboard in a crate and hidden her amongst the luggage...
The golem is built for a man who wanted an obedient, attractive and curious wife, but he dies so she ends up alone in New York, aware of everyone's desires but unsure of her purpose. Meanwhile, a Syrian immigrant accidentally releases a genie from the old flask he was trapped in for a 1000 years. He is, understandably, mighty angry.]

and this all might be fake, but it's also the first time she's held a real book in her hands. all the others on board the ark are locked up as symbolic remembrances of the original grounders who brought them on board, and all schooling is dealt with via tablets and holograms. she flips the pages once experimentally, then sets in to reading.
and because she has company, deigns to read aloud. all the way through to when the characters are fully introduced and their first interaction before she pauses. slowly looks up from the page and squints at him. )
Is this going to be a story about love? ( she sounds wary, but none the less intrigued. were you ready to find out your best friend used to be a painfully romantic type, natsuno? )

[A kind Rabbi names the golem Chava and takes her under his wing. She tries to blend in with the humans, but constantly worries about losing control.
The genie stays with the man who freed him, though he'a not pleased about it. He takes the name Ahmad and tries to regain his memories of the evil sorcerer who enslaved him.
When golem and genie meet, they connect immediately. Different as they are, they understand each other the way humans never will. They explore New York at night and talk about everything - you could see a very close friendship, or squint and see a date.]
