1st Race | [Open]
Who: Kiriya Kujo and you!
When: Late May.
Where: All over the ship, locations in prompts.
What: Kiriya gets his bearings
Warnings: Possible discussions of death, possible body horror depending on how you want to look at a kids' show transformation trinket turning a dude into a motorcycle.
Kiriya looks like he's dressed for the part of a guy on a cruise, at least. He's wearing a loud floral-print shirt with a maroon leather jacket lazily draped around his shoulders, torn jeans, and some sneakers with no socks. He's got a pair of round-framed sunglasses clipped to the collar of his shirt, and he's moving around the ship with all the energy of a gawky tourist. This is the perfect cover for not letting anyone know that he's a bit alarmed thinking he should be dead and wondering if Hell is actually a cruise ship. The unnerving nature of the onboarding was not lost on him, and now he might as well figure out where the hell he's found himself.
[All and Sundries]
Surely this has got to be some sort of weird trick. Kiriya is systematically examining all of the merchandise while trying to appear very casual about doing so. He might remove all of the books from a rack or toiletries from a shelf, but he'll put it all back, too. Eventually, he'll figure out how to "buy" a bag of chips and a tube of sunscreen. He feels like that might come in handy later on. As things stand now, he is pretty sure the dead can get sunburned.
[The Infinite Tommy Bahama]
Alright, this is weird. Uncomfortably weird. This store is entirely too large and absolutely should not be occupying this much space. Not that Kiriya is visibly letting that show. He grabs a loud shirt that somehow manages to be even more obnoxious than the one he's already wearing. "You see that? That's a great shirt. Excellent pattern." Why yes, he will absolutly start just chatting away with a stranger like this is all fine.
[Morgue]
This is probably the last place one might expect to find a guy who looks like he's leaning hard into Tourist Mode, but look, Kiriya's spent a lot of time in morgues. When you're a coroner, that just comes with the territory. He seems perfectly at ease as he opens the cabinets where bodies might be, because he is absolutely being nosy in a professional capacity. He'd look for his own corpse, but he doesn't think he left one behind.
[Sports Deck]
He's looking out at the running track. He should not be thinking of doing what he's thinking of doing. There is no point to thinking of doing what he's thinking of doing. But the idea of making sure his equipment still works after all this might not be a bad idea; better to test that out now than to run into an actual problem and find that the Gamer Driver's failed him.

Morgue
Why is Max lurking around the morgue? Well that's none of anyone's concern.

"We probably need someone with those skills honestly."
What with all the murders.

no subject
Generally that's easy enough to tell. And sometimes even televised.
no subject
So what if this sort of thing got him killed the first time? Apparently, he'll just come back again.
no subject
"I'm not sure if that'll make all the pieces fall into place, but it will definitely help things if you could figure out why no one stays dead."
He flicks a speck of dust off one of his cufflinks. "My name is Maximilien, I should have introduced myself earlier."

no subject
"Well we're assuming they come through here, Friday carries the corpses out of here and back to their cabins where they wake up later."
no subject
Not that he is actually worried about needing a weapon or inclined to trust this sort of warning, but hey. He's just a totally ordinary coroner as far as anyone needs to know right now.
no subject
The rest of that sounds like a decent plan, and tracks with what he and others had been planning, "I think intercepting here either coming to or from the morgue would be most beneficial. Either would gain valuable insight."
"Not that frequently, and seeing as you've just arrived it seems unlikely you've already angered anyone. Unless you have?" he is here for the gossip if that's the case.
no subject
And there's a broad grin at that last question. "My fashion sense offended some guy in Tommy Bahama's, that count?"
no subject
"It depends, was that person the bearded man who wears nothing but mismatched floral patterns? Because I think he's more likely to drunkenly fall on you than anything else." His voice is disdainful as he speaks about Sharky, even though he doesn't know his name - he keeps running into him leaving Tommy Bahama, almost as if the man lives there.
no subject
"No, actually it was a guy who was dressed kind of, uh, I dunno, really old-fashioned?" Kiriya shrugs. "With ruffles and things?"
no subject
He sniffs disdainfully, apparently the two aristocratic fashion snobs don't get along very well.

And while Max also does not approve of loud and abrasive shirts, he's at least not going to stab anyone about it. It'll be a mark against them - but not the genesis for death. "I think you're safe from shirt-based murder. No one here has come off as quite that petty."
no subject
Kiriya scratches his head. "Well, that's good, then. If you've got to be stuck at sea with a bunch of strangers, at least they're not murderously petty strangers, y'know?"
no subject
If that's true Max will laugh and laugh and probably never stop. That would be legitimately amazing. "They're murderous, but for other reasons than clothing. So far."
He folds his arms behind his back, "I'll be sure to inform you if that changes."
Like if he comes across Sharky's decimated corpse - it's probably due the Tommy Bahama. Or that's what he'll assume.
no subject
There's a laugh. "I would appreciate the heads up, yeah."
no subject
But until then, Max will nod politely before leaving. He'll let Kiriya know if he finds anyone dead. That's almost like being social or something.
