JUNE EVENT: CAMP

early on June 10th, Friday's morning announcements end with a request for everyone going on the latest excursion to meet her in the atrium. she seems in noticeably better spirits than she had been last time, and she leads them cheerfully to the tender. once they are all aboard, and the door is securely shut, the interior fills with gas, and, perhaps, their last thought before they slip into unconsciousness is "oh shit, not again."

passengers wake up on a rickety old school bus, driving down a dirt road surrounded by woods. what is it that they notice first? that, no matter what they were wearing before, they are now wearing a camp t-shirt and legitimately horrifyingly short shorts? the overstuffed backpack between their knees? the words "take one down and pass it around" dying on their lips? the fact that Friday is absolutely driving the bus?

or, maybe the fact that it's already slowing down, pulling up in front of a massive wooden sign, saying:

 

 

 

 

 

CAMP AION

when they get out of the bus, Friday is the one to divide them up into their cabin groups, and she is the one to give the counselors their very official-looking clipboards and whistles. she explains that they are in charge, and that she will be back to pick them up in a week, and... very little else. she responds to nothing outside of whatever is on her unseen little script, and she gets back on the bus shortly after, leaving them there.

I don't particularly mind if it isn't. As I am, I'm out of my element with anything more casual than a formal waltz, and besides that, I'd like to try and do the things you like as well.

[Teach Ebalon to dab, Mizuki.]

[ He Will Not. ]

I-… I think I do. If just because it'll be embarrassing…

[selenokinesis]

Huhu, that's fine, then. How about this... give me your hand?

[If Mizuki does so, Ebalon will make him do a little spin and then dip him and kiss him on the mouth.

Please please tell me the song changes to some ridiculous anime opening while this happens.]

[mooninthewater]

[ Mizuki does so, giving a little giggle as Ebalon spins him around this time. There's a brief softness as his fingers run through Ebalon's hair and he relaxes in the hold. His eyes flutter closed as their lips so easily slide together, and regardless of their ridiculous camp outfits, Mizuki decides this is still, perhaps, one of the best dances he's had… ]

[mooninthewater]

[ But then, yeah, weeb shit happens and there is instant transition from soft to panic and embarrassed. Mizuki jolts for a moment, then squirms out of Ebalon's hold, slipping from his grip akin to water as it flops to the ground, then scurries quickly over to his phone with some fumbling to get back onto his feet so he can stop the music. ]

[selenokinesis]

[There's an immediate joke like someone just walked in on them or something, but no, everything is fine! It's just music! Music and a panicked jellyfish. Ebalon stands back up fully as Mizuki becomes Boneless™ and follows after him with a chuckle.]

Not what you expected, hm?

I thought I-I had put the other song on repeat, but… [ Why is there a repeat one and repeat all in his all songs list? That’s dumb and stupid. ] I mean I know it probably doesn’t matter because it’s not like your world has anime or anything, but it’s still a little embarrassing…

[ Idly scrolling through his phone like he’s looking for another song when, in actuality, he’s just embarrassed and the repetitive motion calms him. ]

...my love, what is anime?

[mooninthewater]

… I'd love to show you, but I don't have any on me, really. I… I do have manga, though. Which is just… book form anime. Would you like to read some of those when we get back to the ship?

[selenokinesis]

I would, yes. But what is the form of anime of manga is the book form?

[mooninthewater]

[ Oh no. Oh my god??? He needs to show Ebalon anime now. Madoka here he comes— ]

… It's like… cute pictures in a sort of… hm… does Elrios have comics?

[selenokinesis]

We do, yes. They're more common in the northern region of Fluone.

[mooninthewater]

They're like that, then! They're just usually from Higashi and in a stylized artform. I own a lot of, um— [ girls' manga— ] romance stuff, though. But I have some mysteries and action stuff here and there, too, if that's not your cup of tea.
