JUNE OPEN LOG

[but, hey: you shouldn't be left out of the camping fun just because you didn't think to sign up, or you only got here yesterday, or actually you only got here today and you have no idea what's going on! because the camp can come to YOU!

meaning, shortly after seeing the others off, Friday returns to the atrium and begins setting up a few items she's brought from... somewhere, one assumes? a pup tent. two sleeping bags. a tent stove. s'mores accoutrements. there's a fake potted plant that she decided looked enough like a tree. all pushed together in the middle of the atrium.

at her spot behind the desk, she looks visibly pleased with herself. she's doing her best.]

"Not to you, I surmise." Judging from that response, anyway. She certainly doesn't seem convinced of the idea.

"No."

But perhaps were she more fanciful, as mortals are, it might. As it is, she considers the man before her. "Have you been here long?" She has not seen him before, but that means little: there are many aboard that run a daytime schedule and thus have never crossed paths with her.

"A few days." He says by way of saying 'no'. "Not enough time to see the breadth of nonsense this place has on offer, it seems."

Claudia's little smile is sharp, her lips pressed closed to hide her fangs. "No. Not by any means."

She is probably the only one who is enjoying her time on the ship, and is amused by all the nonsense. Apparently most mortals find it distressing instead of fascinating. More's the pity, there's plenty to enjoy.

"Meaning that you have been here longer?" He asks, cautious of that answer more than not. Perhaps she would be willing to recount some experiences?

"I have. It is a very interesting cruise." Again, her smile is not particularly childish, nor is it entirely kind. Her temperament is well-suited to the kinds of diversions the Captain finds amusing. "What is your name?"

She doesn't give out information for free: he'll have to ask questions, and be prepared to give her information in return. She is not particularly altruistic, by nature or nurture, despite Louis' best efforts to give her something like a set of morals.

"I am Emet-Selch." He dips his head just so in polite acknowledgment. "If you would provide your name in recompense." It's half polite and half authoritative - as is typical for one used to positions of authority.

His attitude is familiar: Claudia has moved in the higher circles of society before. Her little smile flickers wider a fraction before she inclines her head, gracefully, and offers him a curtsey. She has excellent manners, thank you.

"Claudia. A pleasure to meet you."

He gives a small nod of acceptance. Finally, someone with a modicum of refinement on this ship.

"Then I will leave you to your evening, Claudia. May you find some use of this 'camping' trip."

"Thank you kindly. And you as well."

Another who can appreciate good manners. This ship is decidedly short on decorum, long in murder. Well, it's merely to be expected, she supposes, given the very nature of the cruise. She will have to mind herself around this Emet-Selch, and see exactly what level of authority he is accustomed to, and if he is the sort who sought power for the freedom it gave him, or for some idea of nobility.

If the former, she will make note to avoid him. If the latter...perhaps he might be of some entertainment or use.
