Whatever it Takes
Who: Valdis and Open with Some Closed
What: Valdis does stuff around the Serena Eterna, feel free to join her
When: November
Where: All over
Warnings: In each starter
I’m a Product of the System | Open | CW: None
She’s mostly been forgiven for Tiamat’s actions, but it’s still all out there for people to look at on the photo wall. Valdis remembers some of these, but thankfully Ash’s death isn’t on there. There are other photos since the last time she was here, with other passengers, which is of course why she is here, to see what everyone else has been up to. She’s not the only murderer on the ship, they all play their parts when needed.
“When was the last time you killed someone,” she asks absently to the next approaching person.
A Catastrophe | Open | CW: None
Part of her no longer cares about dying, and with the daggers out of the way and the important people having their names to protect them, Tiamat has no more power. Or at least not enough to scare her. She has the twin blades out and practices with them, slashing with a speed that would terrify most. Valdis isn’t afraid to show off her power and skill, they are necessary to survival. With a single, swift slash one of the dummies falls into two pieces and she turns on the other, prepared to ruin that one as well.
And Yet a Masterpiece | Max and Ash | CW: Probably gonna be NSFW
Being in love with three people isn’t fair, but it is wonderful that she has found them all at the same time. Valdis had gone from no one, to so many she doesn’t want to ever leave the Eterna and lose them, but that might not be something that is up to any of them, and all good things eventually end. Still Ash’s emotions upon hearing that she knows when he and Max are together shows her a very missed opportunity. So she will text both.
Max, I still haven’t properly made it up to you after Tiamat and I think we need to talk to Ash about how all this is going to work. Dinner at 8?
Ash, we’ve been dating for a bit now, and I know you are also dating Max, and I am also dating Max. We should discuss this, don’t you think? Dinner at 8?
But I’m Half-diseased | Open | CW: Blood
Valdis sits in Sand Dollar, sketching scene after scene, person after person. Some are passengers and others people from her past. One might be familiar to those who went on the excursion, Fenrir. Occasionally she’ll close her eyes and hold her breath until something passes, other moments she is paler than usual, and some of the drawings have red splatters on them. She has several empty cups of coffee on the table and several red stained napkins. Anyone looking at her would know she is clearly unwell, but she’ll greet anyone who approaches with a smile and a polite greeting.
Wildcard | PM or just go for it

But I’m Half-diseased
"Valdis, you look like shit. What's going on? Is that your blood?"
no subject
Which honestly tells him almost nothing.
no subject
"So, what you're telling me, without telling me, is someone close to you on this ship is having a monumentally bad time right now and you can feel it. Who?"
no subject
"Yeah. I've siphoned off Siffleur a few times and, well, I don't know what happened, but his mother has taken him over and she's not even remotely sane."
no subject
"Do I want to know how the hell that's possible?"
no subject
"He's been sharing his consciousness and soul with her for several months, somehow they switched places and she's...not doing well with it."
Not that the woman had ever been well.
"I can't sense him anymore. His soul, yes, but not him."
no subject
"Jesus, how many of us are there?" Enough to start a club. Except, not, because they would all be trying to kill each other in under a week.
"You know I don't have any love for the guy but... is there a way to reverse that? You can't just suffer like this forever."
no subject
She gestures to the red droplets.
"I'm afraid I have no other options except to hope that his mother is successful. The pain she is in...it isn't normal."
no subject
"Is there something I can do to help you? Hell, you still have the Lakah, don't you? Numbing feelings is what it does."
no subject
"I already used it all."
She hates to admit it, but he hadn't asked for it and she had needed relief really badly when it first happened.
"I'm sure the pain will fade over time, or I'll get used to it."
no subject
Of the feelings that pass through him--alarm, sympathy, fear--anger doesn't make a showing. Relief does, though. It's gone and he couldn't get it back even if he did want to. And thankfully she didn't hurt herself with an overdose. But that is way overshadowed by how scared he is to hear that even that wasn't enough to help her. How is she still upright?
"There's got to be something else. Has there ever been a way to mute your abilities? Something, I don't know, magic?"
no subject
It's a toss up, get rid of her headaches or cut off a sense she's relied on her whole life to survive. Nobunaga is the only one who knows it could kill her, but so far it isn't bad enough to reach those levels.
"I haven't been able to stop it on my own. Teyrey has some sort of ability to block it and Erin has a ring she wears sometimes when I want to be alone with my own emotions, but those are singular people."
no subject
no subject
She doesn't want Erin to worry, and asking for the ring would mean she needs to explain what is happening.
no subject
"You and Erin are a couple, aren't you? Ask her. Let her help you. What's a partner for, if not that?"
no subject
no subject
"No. I didn't. I would have said something to her about it. I would have helped you plan something."
no subject
Which she has done at least once on board this ship.
no subject
no subject
"If it goes on much longer then I'll ask."
no subject
"Anything I can do for you in the mean time? Bring you an ice pack? 'nother cup of coffee?"
no subject
She grabs a blank piece of paper.
"Do you still have the one I did for you before?"
The silly cartoon one.
wrap!
"I sure do. Pinned to my side of the wall since I don't have a fridge to hang it on."
He'll go get them both some fresh coffee and then take a seat across from her.
"Make sure you get my good side again."
