Probably not the best place for a lab...
Who: Peter and you?
when: Sometime in June after Summer Camp Fun
Where: Fate's Design
What: Peter's still around and he might need more web fluid
[ Peter's gathered a few things up and taken over an unused table in the casino. Technically, he's not old enough to gamble, at least not by the US's standard and he's pretty sure gambling is straight up illegal in New York. But he's not here for that, he's here to try and make something resembling web fluid. His supply is dangerously low and he'd like to avoid running out if he can. ]
[ He's mixing chemicals and trying to be careful about it but his PPE is basically a pair of sunglasses and some tongs he may or may not have taken from the salad bar at the buffet. It's probably fine. He bites gently on his tongue as he carefully, carefully tips a glass carefully to join it with a roughly measure out batch of pre-mixed chemicals. ]
[ These are not the best conditions and this is not the best place to do this but he needs to experiment and it's not like there's a convenient lab something for him to work in. Just as he's think that maybe this isn't the best place for this there's a loud Pop! and Peter drops the tongs in alarm. ]
Uh.. [ He watches with baited breath as his concoction bubbles ominously with baited breath. It turns a weird purple color and bubbles over and out of the glass he's tried to contain it in. And then bubbles over again. ]
Shit!

Shit!

Will this suffice?
[He's... not about to help actually clean up, he didn't make the mess. But he can help give Peter the means to do so.]
What exactly are you trying to make?
no subject
Uh... hopefully?
[ Although his concoction is still rapidly growing in size. It's not... sentient is it? He didn't accidentally create a weird monster did he? There's no way, right? ]
Um.. webbing.
[ He opts to just tell him the truth. He's still holding the towel and very reluctant to approach his mess. ]

Webbing.
[He repeats it, tilting his head.]
May I ask why?
[He steps away from the mess, since it's growing. He's a little worried about what may have been created here, but if he must use his bow, he will...]
no subject
I'm almost out. So.. I gotta find a way to make more
[ the mess seems to have at least slowed in it's growth so that's a good sign, he thinks. ]
Oh my god! I think I know what happened!
[ He explained, realization dawning. ] I think I accidentally created devil's toothpaste.
...Which I really should have seen coming, I mean I was using peroxide.
no subject
[He's so confused. The explanation doesn't help, because Hythlodaeus doesn't know what peroxide is- though he at least knows what toothpaste is.]
This seems rather complicated... you must be rather clever in order to make any sense of it.
no subject
[ he answers with a shrug and then finally approaches the foam. It definitely made a mess, that was for sure. ]
Not really, it's simple experiment- you mix soap, peroxide and some kinda catalyst like potassium iodide and- [ he mimics a minor explosion with his hands, completely with a little 'pop!' sound for effect. ]
It's really cool when you're expecting it.
no subject
I suppose it would be interesting to make something like this intentionally... even if you had me convinced you'd created some kind of creature for a moment there.
[And potentially not a friendly one, either.]
no subject
[ he drops the towel on the foam and it flattens instantly. ]
I do kinda need to know what I put in there that potentially has potassium iodide in it... [ You know, to avoid being blind sided by this again. ]
no subject
[He chuckles, but shrugs.]
So... what exactly do you mean by using webbing to stop "bad guys?"
[He doesn't even know what a superhero is, but having powers of a sort isn't something too strange to him at least.]
no subject
[ He assures and then looks at the mess he's made. ] Just don't uh.. touch it. It might be kinda sticky.
Anyways, It's part of my brand, I have spider powers, so back home I use the stuff to catch like bank robbers and stuff.
no subject
[The webbing makes more sense now, though it does seem a hassle for Peter to have to make it all by himself. Still, he seems smart enough that he wouldn't ordinarily have an issue with it.]
no subject
[ just spider things. ]
I'm not really surprised, I don't think radioactive spiders are exactly common in other worlds.
no subject
[He seems delighted by the idea, eyes lighting up.]
Or do you need your web for such a thing?
no subject
[ he glances around for something he could stick too and opts to grab the bottle of peroxide he'd used. He sticks his hand to it and without actually gripping it with his fingers, he picks it up. ]
no subject
Interesting! Would that I could simply touch something and pick it up, though I imagine that would get irritating if I couldn't put it down again... does that ever happen?
