Who: Peter and you?

What: Peter's still around and he might need more web fluid


[ Peter's gathered a few things up and taken over an unused table in the casino. Technically, he's not old enough to gamble, at least not by the US's standard and he's pretty sure gambling is straight up illegal in New York. But he's not here for that, he's here to try and make something resembling web fluid. His supply is dangerously low and he'd like to avoid running out if he can. ]

[ He's mixing chemicals and trying to be careful about it but his PPE is basically a pair of sunglasses and some tongs he may or may not have taken from the salad bar at the buffet. It's probably fine. He bites gently on his tongue as he carefully, carefully tips a glass carefully to join it with a roughly measure out batch of pre-mixed chemicals. ]

[ These are not the best conditions and this is not the best place to do this but he needs to experiment and it's not like there's a convenient lab something for him to work in. Just as he's think that maybe this isn't the best place for this there's a loud Pop! and Peter drops the tongs in alarm. ]

Uh.. [ He watches with baited breath as his concoction bubbles ominously with baited breath. It turns a weird purple color and bubbles over and out of the glass he's tried to contain it in. And then bubbles over again. ]

Well, that does explain the why, and possibly some of the what, even if Watson would be the first to admit he's no chemist.

"Well, this attempt is certainly a failure," he says. "Bloody hell, Parker. I don't even know what to do with this."

It absolutely needs to be poked. Watson takes a pen out of his pocket -- plastic, branded with the ship name -- and pokes the foam gently; it comes away in sticky strings.

"Oh, I wouldn't-Okay." He starts an attempt to stop Watson from poking it but he does and well, honestly, the fact it comes away in strings is encouraging to him. At least it didn't explode too badly.

"Uh, no. actually. I wouldn't count this as a failure, it's more of a uh... starting point. It's just I don't think this version is as strong as I need it to be and I don't know how fast before it dissolves-but it should." If not then.. well, he can worry about that later.

Poking things is part of science, Peter. He didn't poke it with anything he cared about.

"Well, that's encouraging. Do you think the phantoms are willing to clean up this attempt? I haven't any idea how to deal with... this." He's practical. It comes with living with an amateur chemist. "If it doesn't dissolve, that is."

But he's not even wearing goggles. Not that Peter's much better off, but he does have sunglasses. Now that he's thinking it about though, diving goggles would probably work better. He'll grab a pair later.

"I don't know.. I'm really hoping it'll just dissolve. If it doesn't.. well I'll.. worry about that later."

"If it dissolves, that would be convenient," Watson says. "In the meantime... well, it's fortunate that not too many people come in here, I don't think. It's rather a hazard."

He considers, frowning at the mess. "Which I suppose makes this a good place for your experiments."
