Maximilien is still unsure what the big deal is when it comes to birthdays - just another year come and gone. But after the shitstorm that was a second year on the ship, not to mention the excursion they just got back from, he could use a day to just relax and not think about anyone else but himself and the two people he actually likes ... and one person he sorta tolerates due to proximity.

He has pulled the cushioned massage chairs in front of the big window that faces the water, and has Jinx's machine gun sitting by his side should anyone else show up and try to ruin this by existing at them.

All three of them will get the same text: I think we could all use some relaxation after recent events. I've commandeered the spa for our private use if you care to join me.

Meaning that he is fully ready (and excited) to shoot anyone who isn't them that shows up. Max is currently lounging with his feet kicked up and hands folded across his stomach - he's never been any good at relaxing, it's high time to try and fix that.

Ava innocently covers the amused curl of her mouth with fingertips. And hopes Maximilien doesn't out her for saying Sean Connery was cute.

"Is that so." A surreptitious glance at Ava who is looking just so innocent and definitely not smirking. "Jealous of the lack of car chases in your day to day life? As for James Bond, he seemed quite... passable to us."

Passable.

"Have I never shown you the car I built myself? I do not want for those. Ava can tell you just how well I can maneuver a vehicle." Speaking of Ava, he sees you over there acting coy. He is not fooled.

"Passable? Passable?!" He slams his fist on the table. "The man was a joke. It's fortunate for him that he is only fiction and can be protected by poorly crafted plot devices. If he were ever to show up here I would beat him into the ground."

Ava's attention snaps back over because it never truly left, and she nods eagerly. Yes, she'd very much like to see that.

"I didn't say cars, I said car chases. Two wildly divergent things." He saw Peter at the diner racing Skulduggery, he knows how exhilarating that is.

"Would you have preferred the movies be about the minutia of detailed spreadsheets and several hours of reconnaissance? You do realize, were he to show up here, he'd be protected by those same plot devices. He'd likely win."

Shots fired.

"If the chase has progressed to my target getting to his or her car in the first place then I have done my job very poorly." Car chases attract attention. They attract police, too.

His eyes flash with anger. "Were he to show up here, I would put him on his bum in two swings."

"I love car chases," Ava interjects. And this is why none of them ever let her drive.

And, in support of her husband, adds, "Of course you would, darling."

"Should we ever end up back in my world can I get you to repeat that to a certain organization?" Because for all his ability to twist logic around to put things in his favor, it never occurred to him to act as though being in the car chase where he was caught by Overwatch, had actually reflected badly on them not him.

"That's not as fun as guns popping out of your shoes though."

"That's because none of the cars belonged to you, Ava." He loves her, but not enough to let her drive his baby.

"I would be glad to give them tips from my experience."

His lips twist down into a frown. "Yes, and tell me how much fun you think it would be to accidentally shoot your dance partner in the leg because a contraption like that cannot possibly be counted on to function safely, especially after a particularly hard bit of running and jumping."

"Of course they don't. Who would be stupid enough to car chase with a vehicle registered in your own name," she grumbles and pouts.

[makesomedeals]

"Well that naturally wouldn't happen, because it's a movie and not real. Unless shooting them furthered the plot somehow." He's never seen a single comedy movie so he has no idea that would probably be the start of something slapstick.

"If we manage to get out of here, we'll get you a car to take on a joyride. I think we all deserve that."

"My car was registered in 'Smith's' name." He doesn't expect anyone here to be surprised to learn that wasn't his 'real' name.

"I suppose it can be tolerated, once." Okay, but he loves you enough to help you steal a car to joyride in.

"Can it be an aston martin?" She'll let them fight over who gets to be shotgun.

[makesomedeals]

"She has a point, if you're going to take something for a joyride, might as well make it an enjoyable one to drive." He fully condones her Aston Martin crash dreams.

"Thank you, for your support." Beaming.

He shakes his head and sighs, "It will have to be a stolen one." He's not spending that much on a car just to crash it. Perhaps they will wind up in Bond's universe and they can borrow his.

And he might not actually fight Max for shotgun since he values not dying.

"Obviously, that's half the fun!" Anyone that can afford a such fancy cars can afford to have it wrecked, anyway. That's what insurance is for.

But yes she'd absolutely enjoy a vacation to the Bond universe.
