Maximilien is still unsure what the big deal is when it comes to birthdays - just another year come and gone. But after the shitstorm that was a second year on the ship, not to mention the excursion they just got back from, he could use a day to just relax and not think about anyone else but himself and the two people he actually likes ... and one person he sorta tolerates due to proximity.

He has pulled the cushioned massage chairs in front of the big window that faces the water, and has Jinx's machine gun sitting by his side should anyone else show up and try to ruin this by existing at them.

All three of them will get the same text: I think we could all use some relaxation after recent events. I've commandeered the spa for our private use if you care to join me.

Meaning that he is fully ready (and excited) to shoot anyone who isn't them that shows up. Max is currently lounging with his feet kicked up and hands folded across his stomach - he's never been any good at relaxing, it's high time to try and fix that.

He delicately takes it from the box as if it's made of the finest handspun silk. And for someone who has recieved less than a handful of gifts in his life it hits the same.

"Thank you, it's wonderful." He runs his thumb along a few of those little omnic faces. He is absolutely narcissistic enough to wear a tie with himself on it. "You've captured my expressions perfectly."

He tries to say that seriously but can't help the soft laugh in his voice.

Ava peeks over at the gift and gives an appreciative little 'aww.'

She can't resist laughing along with him, grinning wide and feeling like she's the most clever person in the universe.

"You're welcome! My favorite part was painting your eyes 'cause I really like how your face glows! And this one, that's how happy you look when you drive your car." Ha ha, she thinks she's funny. She gestures randomly at one of the little omnic faces, as if there's any visible other expression on that tie. But even if there were, she wouldn't really want to paint anyone looking unhappy...

"I hope in the future to do so again. I do miss my car." A wistful sigh, he knows it's somewhere on the ship because that's how things work, but it might be locked away in the hull somewhere or inside a decorative snowglobe. "Should the opportunity present itself, I hope we'll get to go on a drive again. Perhaps another resort situation, but with a better ending."

In fact he's hoping for a better ending for everything.
