[OPEN] Newcomer Getting His Sea Legs
Who: Six, OPEN
What: August catch-all
Where: All over the ship
When: All of August
Warnings: Six is a former mercenary assassin who only recently quit the business from his own perspective thanks to losing six years of his memory. He's also never had a vacation before and has quickly decided that they're overrated.
[Wandering Around]
The best thing to do in unfamiliar territory is to scope out the situation. There really aren't many places to stalk around here (surprisingly enough) but things are so spaced out that he isn't sure if there just aren't that many people on board overall or if the ship's even larger than he'd originally thought. Or both.
He eyed each new place warily, eyes darting about the space behind the sunglasses. He didn't trust any of this nonsense right now, to be honest.
[Gathering Necessities]
He wasn't sure if he should be insulted that the tacky clothing shop had so many green suits in his size. However, with no way of getting his combat armor back that he could see, the slightly-familiar suits would do.
With a couple of extra suits in hand, time to gather the rest of what he absolutely needed.
[People-Watching]
In trying to learn more about the ship itself, it was equally important to learn about who was on the ship.
Six could sometimes be found on the outer fringes of an occupied open area, watching people coming and going. It was probably a bit creepy...not that Six would be bothered by such a thing.
[Meeting the Roommate (Private to Prisoner Number 6)]
The doors to the cabins were heavy. It made sense given if water had flooded the room, the space would need to be sealed off before flooding the rest of the ship. At least it'd be easier to tell if someone was trying to break in.
He looked around the space, seeing no one else but clearly seeing evidence that he wasn't going to be alone now that he wasn't being more or less dragged about to the safety drills.

Hey there new roomie
"What are you doing in my room?"
Ohai. This should go well.
This ship was far more than a mile long from what he could tell, and yet they were rooming random people together. Probably as a way to get on their "guests" nerves.
oh yes i'm sure nothing could go wrong here
"I suppose introductions should be made." You first shady stranger.
Not at all.
After a moment, Six decided that given the other had seniority, giving his name would probably be a somewhat acceptable olive branch.
"Six."
:]
"What did you call me?"
no subject
"I didn't call you anything. I gave you my name."
no subject
A chill shivers down his spine, followed quickly by a flush of rage. The Captain is playing a very mean trick. Of course the man he's been forced to room with would be called "Six." Number 6 is feeling stupidly possessive of the moniker now despite his well-voice hatred of it. He'll have to listen to someone else go by it here in his own cabin for who knows how long. But he can't express any of that without explaining it all. So, he'll have to swallow this outrage and try to salvage the introduction. Ignore the grinding of his teeth as he forces out an apology.
"I'm sorry. I misunderstood." Obviously. "Call me Peter Smith."
no subject
Though the "call me" part was interesting. Not the man's actual name but an alias most likely.
Six simply nodded his head before looking towards the couch. "I assume the couch is mine?"
no subject
"So...Six"--it's going to take him a while to get accustomed to using that--"Is there anything you think I ought to know about cohabitating with you?"
no subject
That way the man would know not to jump every time he left the room late at night. That heavy door was guaranteed to make a lot of noise opening and closing.
"I also don't like surprises."
He didn't think Smith would spring any on him, but better to be safe than sorry. He imagined breaking someone's neck wasn't the best way to deal with an overly-friendly soul.
"What about you?"
no subject
"I'll do my best not to startle you, and I trust you'll do the same." They share that in common. Surprising a trained killer is... inadvisable.
"I can become restless at night, but as a general rule I try to be in bed around midnight at the latest. I'll just be getting up when you return at six o'clock. But you may use the wash facilities then because I prefer to start my mornings with my own fitness routine." A jog along the deck, some stretches, and some boxing or gymnastics practice is his usual regimen.
"All told, it seems we will be able to stay out of each other's way."
no subject
Really, they didn't exactly get along but they could potentially tolerate one another's presence. Good enough.
no subject
There is one final thing that needs to be discussed. "Concerning visitors: I'm told the cabins are the best places to speak without the prying ear of the Captain, so I expect you'll have visitors from time to time. That said, if you are planning any romantic liaisons, I would much prefer you do so elsewhere."
no subject
"We're in the middle of hostile territory. I've got more important things on my mind."
Though it should go without saying that the feeling was mutual.
no subject
"It seems that our priorities are well enough aligned."

How did I miss this tag? I suck.
Seeing as how the Captain seemed to enjoy tormenting them.
shh, it's fine
"I suppose it can't be helped. This ship is too small to avoid creating some kind of attachment."
no subject
"When I woke up here, I was on the bed. Since I'll be taking the couch, are there any spare pillows or blankets? Otherwise, I can make do."
Wouldn't be the first time he slept in an uncomfortable place.
no subject
"There are two pillows. Take one. And you can choose between the top sheet or comforter. I don't require both."
no subject
He nodded. "I'll just take the sheet for now. If I need anything else, I'll try to track down where the bedding's stored."
okay to wind this one down here?
A pause, and then he adds. "Unless there is anything else, I will be going out again now."
Sounds good!
He shook his head to the other man's implied question. "I'll let you know if I come up with any questions later." He raised a bemused eyebrow. "I imagine I know where to find you."
no subject
That could have gone worse. Very well. He can live with this.
