I think both can be of use. A dialogue is about two people expressing themselves to one another. Allowing someone to share without any input or feedback of your own, it's certainly a way to learn about someone, but it leaves the whole thing a bit unbalanced.

What's your opinion on the matter?

Hm. If you want my serious opinion, it changes from person to person. Some people you can't bug too hard, so you should let them come to you. Other people really need to get questioned or they'll get stuck in their own heads.

In my unserious opinion, I like skipping all that and getting right to the part where they have to beat me in chess or risk losing their hair. That's how you really learn about a friend.

I'm not good enough at chess to step up to that challenge. I'll leave that to Crabb, if it comes to it.

Lord no! Do I seem like a good spy? [ What a cool idea, he should attempt to become one in his free time. ]

I'm a top operative at a medical company, in charge of special operations and battlefield communications. Codenames are actually a vital part of battlefield communications you know? We need something unique to tell everyone apart.

[ And it just kind of stuck to everyone using them casually at some point. Maybe a lot of people at Rhodes Island wanted to leave their old lives behind. ]

Anyway, my given name is way less cool then Elysium, so please call me by it!

Of course. I'll be honest, I wasn't born to the name Johnny Summer, myself. But that's who I've become over time, who I've made myself to be.

[The circumstances were surely different, though.]

It's a good name. Johnny's got a good ring to it, but what made you pick summer? Just your favorite season?

[ It's always interesting to hear the reason behind peoples chosen names, Elysium figures. Well, unless you're like Thorns and you just shrug and say it "sounded good enough." Ugh..that guy. ]

It expresses who I want to be. Golden, warm, carefree. The moments of freedom, vacation, ease.

Ahhh... like an elysian paradise, huh? Johnny, you're a real guy after my own heart. We've gotta be friends now. Let me come crash at your cabin sometime!

[ He gives his most winning, charming smile. Yeah you'll never get rid of him now. ]

I need a chess partner or I'm gonna get bored as all hell. I know you said you aren't good, but I'll teach you!

Careful, if you crash at my place, you may have to deal with my roommate as well. I'd lay money on Watson being better at chess than I am. And César as well, he's often in our cabin, and almost certainly knows how to play.
