[ Because after all, Elysium is all set up now, with a cute table he dragged out of a closet, an hot water kettle he's set up on top with some freshly brewed tea in paper cups, some fries he dug out a resturant. He's got it all set up to kick back for a few hours, dispatch great wisdom, and maybe have his worldveiw totally rewritten. That's the exciting things about vacations, travel and people. You'll never know what might happen next!

So if you're strolling by, come say hi! God knows he'll try and wave just about everyone he can over to share a cup of tea. ]

Usually when we start feeling that way, it means we're ready to start making the changes we need.

The psyche locks, he smells them. Well, more like what Venti said would strike pretty much anyone as a little concerning. Either he's struggling to maintain friendships, or he feels like he is, and neither of those are great. ]

Eh, just another little bit of advice? I'm always here if you need me!

[ He won't push (for once). Instead he taps his chin and tries to think. ]

What's your opinion of the Captain?

[ well, that might be the issue. change is hard. he likes to think he's so flighty and mercurial and maybe he is and yet maybe that's also one of the most root causes of the problem. and he can barely change in wanting to stay as he is for various reasons. he gives elysium a rather faraway look, then blinks and peers at the tea with a misguided kind of hope that this could have been some other kind of drink. alcoholic preferably but of course what therapist would allow that. ]

The Captain... he's definitely the most intimidating being in this realm, seemingly all-powerful. He can create 'realities' and send us there at his whim, once to battle one another sadistically in fights to the death, and another simply to 'camp' for apparently no reason at all. He's cryptic and his motives are questionable. He might look upon us all as just entertainment and fuel for the ship. It seems he's striving for a goal he may or may not know how to achieve, and that he may be losing himself in some way. I think most people here either want to put a stop to him fatally or to help him somehow... 'recover' himself.

I don't quite like to judge others' character and I want to think the best of people, but he's very dangerous and has endangered and hurt many of us. So I suppose I think he needs help or to be stopped, if help is impossible or would take too long while we suffer.

[ Change is hard. It was not so many years ago that Elysium cut all ties with his family, left his home, ditched everyone and everything he'd ever cared about to just...leave. To run far far away from boredom or pain or responsibility. Living on some forever horizon where he didn't need to look back at anything at all.

Now look at him! A venerable career man, with a bunch of cute juniors and so many above and below him that relied on Elysium showing up and being responsible. How two years could really change you... ]

What a complex fellow. You think we can kill him?

[ It's all well and good to hold hostility in your heart if you can follow through, but if theres nothing to be done, Elysium hates holding a pointless grudge. ]

A dear junior of mine seemed to imply we were simply his creations. Quite a scary thought, if you ask me. I can work with a dangerous ally, and I can kill a ambiguous foe, but forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't killing him seem like it would do more collateral then good?

[ well he's somewhat in the mind that mortals could achieve more than even gods, maybe when it comes to what matters. after two thousand years he might've done his best not to change much at all, how contradictory. ]

Several of us tried to kill him. Nothing worked, but someone did wound him... kind of. [ it's complicated? as in surreal hole-in-space-in-his-head kind of complicated but it's kind of weird to try to describe. ] A passenger from a previous voyage also tried to kill him, an ancient and powerful storm goddess. So trying to kill him is one thing and succeeding would be another.

And it's true, I think Miss Friday told a friend of mine that there is an 'us' back in our home worlds and the 'us' that exists here now is... a... a copy? [ but he's a fantasy bard, metaphysics like this is something he tries to wrap his head around. ] So who knows what might happen if we do kill him. Maybe this reality would break and all of us would indeed be destroyed. There are a lot of questions and not many answers at all.
