APRIL EVENT PART 2: GUABANCEX
[it's around midnight, at the very start of the 13th, that the first wave rocks the ship.
winds howl against the windows, pushing the integrity of the glass. near-constant lightning lights up the sky like day, even with the punishing fall of rain, coming down in sheets of unnaturally icy water. it's not the only thing falling from the sky, though: shapes that anyone who has seen them can recognize as pretty much every piece of furniture on decks six and seven, tossed into the sea by the wrath of the storm. apparently. kinda. it's complicated.
should, for some reason, a person's first instinct during crisis be to check in on what Friday is up to, she is not at her usual spot at guest services at all. she is, in fact, on the sports deck, where she has been since she first scented the sharp ozone of Jenny's always inevitable shedding of her mortal form. she's clutching to a railing as a particularly strong (and almost targeted) gust of wind nearly throws her off the deck. she's shouting, probably, but it can't be heard over the storm.
Jenny is about still recognizable as herself, though being about 15 feet taller than normal is a little off-putting at first. expansive waves of her hands bring lightning from the sky and water from the ocean, both of which she uses to bombard the door to the bridge, which, as per usual, stays stubbornly closed. at least she only really seems mad at--]
Release them, liar! Cheat! I'll bring this whole realm down with me! I should have killed us all years ago!
[haha no this is very much a "you" problem. so. should probably. get. on that.]

The wound closed by now, but he's still sore and miserable. Hopefully he can rest here for a while -
Orrrr he can cushion a ghost woman's fall through the ceiling, that works too.

Ava attempts to apologize to whoever, but it comes out more a garbled whine. And as she attempts to push herself up with as much energy as she can muster, her arm simply goes through them instead. Awkward, but probably less painful than being impaled? "Uruhgh."
no subject
He groans again, sitting up in an attempt to assess the situation and scoot away when he notices there's a freaking straight through his chest. He freezes but still manages to rasp a "Get off." For fuck's sake, if that's how his first death on this hell ship going to look - !!
no subject
She can take the pain, has lived with worse for years, but her knee decides it can't take the weight and collapses against her attempt to stand.
"Shit." She closes her eyes, trying to focus. There's really no hurry, nothing she can do up there. Ava breathes out. "Sorry, are you okay?"
no subject
"I'm fine." Should Ava give him a closer look, she'll see a pale teen with bloody stains on the front of his shirt, around the stomach. Don't mind them or the tear in the cloth, he's totally fine.
"Are you okay?"
no subject
Even with her vision still blurred, Ava can see red. "You're bleeding," she points out, that he's probably less fine than he's claiming. There's probably something around, to help patch it up...
"Yeah, just a little seasick I think," she claims.
no subject
"I was bleeding. Not anymore." And not, he's not going to elaborate. Some passengers can use magic, others sprout tentacles or pass through walls - and Natsuno can regenerate. Nothing suspicious here!
"Are you sure it's just seasickness?" He says, frowning. "You did fall from a height."
no subject
"Fine. Vertigo and seasickness. Lovely combination. Doing great, don't mind me, I'll just be on my way," Ava waves her hand dismissively, and makes no effort to move.
no subject
Since she claims to be fine, and there's absolutely nothing he can do either way, Natsuno isn't going to argue. He slumps back against the stage and braces himself to mind-numbing wait in the company of a similarly miserable woman. One advantage of running into someone else with freak powers - you don't get into each other's business.
"Did you see what's going on, when you were up there?"
no subject
"Giant pirate Jenny causing a storm. Wants to fight the captain? Furniture and lightning, very very frightening..." Ava states the last bit to a tune, humming the rest of the line to herself as she finally checks out the state of her knee and the rather nasty bruise already beginning to form upon it.
"But there's some hero types upon it, so... you know 50/50."
no subject
"Yeah, plenty of idiots to go out there." Jade was heading to the top decks, Yuri and Flynn are mostly likely there as well and also... Clarke. He frowns, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in his stomach. No doubt she's out there as well, but he can only hope she won't be THAT much of an idiot and stay alive this time.
He closes his eyes and exhales. Concern for certain people aside, knowing that Jenny is responsible for this mess is almost a relief. "If she manages to beat the captain, that'll solve our problems one way or another."
no subject
"I think her intent is to destroy the entire ship in order to get to him, so... replace one problem with another I suppose."
There's people she's worrying about as well, but not a whole lot of good she can do any of them.
"If we all drown in the icy depths, got any regrets?"
no subject
That's not entirely true, but - he's resigned. There's no point regretting what's over and done with, so he buries it deep in the back of his head and refuses to think about it.
"I died before I got here, so. Drowning in the icy depths doesn't worry me too much."
no subject
"How'd you die?"
no subject
"Really wasn't expecting to wake up in a bed."
no subject
"Something weird was happening, before I... ended up here. But I don't know what it means."
no subject
"Weird how?"
She's not obliged to answer, but he keeps wondering if there's any rhyme or reason to the captain's actions.
no subject
She had nightmares about it for weeks after, to the point she can't quite remember which details were real and what her mind has since constructed.
