[ he could have stayed wind, he could maybe have been a bird, a person, a--it might be the case, he's rather bad at being a deity, but godhood kind of happened to him. funnily enough it's literally the case that every single other god in teyvat is more active in guidance/progress/change with their people than he is. runaway, absentee god. he might appear less than a handful of times a millennium, if that. and it might just be if he wanted or tried to solve every problem he wished to, it'd be impossible. ]

And it seems lately even she's been elusive... the state of the ship lately is worrying, even without notice of an excursion. She's been so absent. Perhaps I should text her?

Shall we decorate these? What symbol or pattern might you make? [ there is, maybe, enough room for an entire TWO COOKIES. so maybe that'll mean one for each of them. ]

Hm hm, I see! Even so, since these will be the first two cookies, [ presumably? maybe she's had a test run of previous cookies, ] we can each be in charge of decorating one. Actually, it might be fun if they all have different patterns so they're all unique too!

[ time to take some m&m's and he'll start delicately arranging them in the shape of an anemo sigil, with the 'heart' in green and the wings in blue. hopefully he won't monopolize those two colors, but he potentially would. whoops, he has a bias in color.

well if they do run low he'll be more egalitarian for the future cookie patterns. ]

I rather like fruit more than sweets so I think I'll give mine to Miss Friday. If we really do need a bigger oven, I wonder if we could try to... create one... with pans perhaps from the buffet? We'd need to make a fire, and... [ no, he's very not handy. it'll be kind of a disaster. don't entertain this idea. ]

( it's after he bedazzles his cookies with green m&ms that she reaches out to take his hands, delighted by the prospect of a better stove which means she can bake and cook much easily. her hands, warm as always, and venti's own in between takes a moment to register until she glances down to look before pulling away. ah, whoops, she knows her brother dislikes when she does such a thing, but she gets so excited about these things. )

If we can make one, then we can make about twelve at a time, and you can offer them to your friends. I can make fruit cookies as well, I even have a few mango seeds left we could pot, and then grow to make a mango tree.

( with her hands, she'll turn on the timer on the ez bake oven, and waits for venti to push the trash insider properly so that it can start. )

While they're baking, we can do just that?

Fruit cookies…! Like tarts or the like, right? [ uwah… well he’s definitely had them whenever the buffet stocks for instance but it seems he more rarely tries to make such treats. he can though! and maybe even decently, it’s not as if cookies can get any more flat?!

but he very much has definitely never made an oven before so that probably totally wouldn’t end well! the 1% of common sense in his silly windy head kicks in; he squeezes her hands before she pulls away, beaming as he taps a finger to his cheek, ] Or… I’m not quite sure if baking might work well on a camp stove, but I can try to see if I can borrow Mizuki for the one I gave him. He’s good at cooking too, so perhaps he can help with the baking!

also yes, time to put both cookies into the little baby oven. on the off chance they do make one he really has to admit, this small pink still has its charm. ]

Raisin, or even macadamia nut cookies. I could make tarts... Normally my brother samples anything I make, he always tells me it tastes amazing. So if you'd tell me what you like, even if I never heard of it before, I'll try.

( to see that venti has changed his mind does make pollux's smile falter for a brief moment, but she finds that she's able to keep it from completely disappearing. at hearing the name, she doesn't think she's actually met that person before, or even chatted with them... there's always new people to meet, but she's sure she's probably seen him. the ship isn't that huge that they're unable to spot others even if it's without a name. )

It's always nice to have someone to share a hobby with, especially with the position we're in, it's something we should get use to for now.

You're clearly a woman of many talents, I see. Then, if it's not too demanding my favorite fruit is apple, any kind of dessert or tart or pie with apple would be the sweetest treat to me! If I could be so bold to sing the praises the fruit of the gods or at least one god~ [ aka him! if it so happens to have that same reputation across realities it's clearly his influence and flawless flavor in the works.

he's an idiot but he does notice the flicker of her expression aaaand let's maybe re-calibrate a little. ] How about, perhaps... we see how well these cookies turn out, then try to construct an oven and if all fails, enlist help afterwards? Surely with our two powers combined we could cobble together a usable oven. How hard could it be?

( luckily, there's apples around for them to use, or what's left because of course there is because i said so! she'll make her way over to the table to pick up one of three that she has, and she'll begin to cut away the skin. it's done finely, peeling away the top laying with ease without cutting into the fruit, it's normally an enjoyable pastime she can spend with her brother who is typically the one who bites face first into a pomegranate. )

Hm, Mizuki does have the camp stove and cooking know-how. And when it comes to making things and mechanisms... [ well, jinx is very much the first person to come to mind when she's made bombs, guns, wea... ponry... all right, so an oven clearly isn't a weapon but it is construction and it involves fire and it seems somewhat along the lines of making things, right?

he's not very handy. he's a musician, not a mechanic! which is why a solo attempt of making an oven is probably going to be a disaster. he thinks this over as he watches the little stove, the light of the heating apparatus, the cookies inside. ]

What kind of fruit or treats would you or your brother like? Mangos? [ actually, he had no idea if they'd offered it to jenny as their preference or a guess to what jenny's would be. ]

I don't suppose that fruit of longevity might be in the buffet when it seems Windjammer is going to be the sole source of food for the near future. [ which is prooobably worrying, but <-- this idiot can probably survive solely off of wine and air and being annoying, so. if the alcohol straight up disappeared from bars, he might start to panic more. ] What is it like? And how did you know Miss Jenny likes mangos?

( she's already getting up to let the cookies bake, and she offers her hand to venti so that he can do the same. at the question, she shakes her head. )

No, it's a fruit that grants immortality, but at a hefty price. ( for gods, it's truly a treat, but for humans it would happen to be a different story. )

Then again... Brother and I have no reason to eat, it really is just a fun experience for us. ( she pauses, thinking. ) Brother has said it was sweet, like the sweet nectar of a flower that's fully bloomed. ( there's a small pink blush that dusts her cheeks as she continues. ) And Gal Friday told us, of course.

What an intriguing fruit, but if it's something that potent I don't suppose the buffet would stock it after all. In a rather twisted way we aren't lacking for immortality when we would revive from death in this realm. [ ... ] Unless we don't and we disappear. [ so, there's that.

hopefully the little easy-bake oven is the type that will shut itself off after baking because time to brainstorm what to do about making an oven?! ] So, about making one of these! How do you imagine we might start or what to use? We'll need an... enclosed container, a heating apparatus or fire... [ isn't that just what an oven really is??? oh god he's an idiot. ] Perhaps pans from the buffet would work, unless you have something else in mind.
