Crew Meeting
Who: The BlackBonnet Crew
What: Seasonal Meeting
Where: The Theater
When: 9/24
Warnings: General warning because look who we've got here.
The set up is not much different from last time, with food and drinks set up at tables on the side of the stage that can be rearranged for when it's time to do something more creative. The difference a prop wall has been pulled onto to the stage, proudly displaying everyone's flags.
Grab a drink and some food and be ready to reconnect with your marvelous mates!

Delightful. But not as delightful as the weapon, which he takes with enormous reverence, tilting it this way and that before he seats the grips firmly in his hands and aims into the empty space to their side. Well weighted. Beautifully finished. Entirely awe inspiring.
Izzy drops the sights and holds the gun in his hands again, like it's something truly precious.]
This is beautiful work, Jinx.

Yeeah weeelllll, what can I say? I can make guns in my sleep. It's no biggie.
no subject
Oh, and you're humble. You continue to surprise me when you have your focus. You're quite the artist, aren't you.
no subject
I've been designing stuff since I was a kid! — A lotta times they blew up in my face or just fall apart immediately but I just kept goin', y'know?! And now everythin' just does what it suppose to. And well, you're my Captain so you gotta have all the best stuff...!
(then quickly, she scurries off to the chest to rummage around to pull out a bullet case. jinx makes her way to him again and opens the lid.)
I got a few bullets left but you can have 'em if you want! Or we can half and half it. Pow-Pow and my pistol might get bummed out but I got my explosives on stand-by if shit hits the fan, anyway.
no subject
Some bullets would be good. Your work would be made useless without, I'm afraid. It would be such a shame.
[He holds out his hand for the ammo. Either that or to cup her cheek.]
You're so very loyal, aren't you Jinx.
no subject
My old man... he believed highly on loyalty. That the way we... got to where we were was due to that. And I'll... — I'll always be loyal to him even though he's... gone.
(her voice is wavering as she speaks and she is trying all her might to hold back any tears; to show bravery.)
I... I don't know what he would want for me to do. I would like to think he would want me to... find someone else I can show my loyalty to. O-Or maybe that's betrayal. (she forces a short chuckle.) Heh, I-I dunno. But... I liked that you gave me orders or...missions? It's what he sent me off to do. I am his daughter but also his weapon and business partner.
(stammering her words, she then adds:)
I-I-I'm not sayin' for you to be my dad or anythin'. Just...uh. I guess... missions would be nice to have sometimes?
no subject
[He would never say he was father material, not now and not ever. But this is a rare opportunity and Izzy isn't stupid enough to throw something like that away. Whatever it means he needs to be to her. So he takes the ammo and shifts it into his hand with the gun before reaching to actually make contact this time - squeezing her shoulder. Firm but not hard. Reassuring, maybe.]
Missions I can give you. I think your father would think it a shame to squander your gifts in this place. But if I take you on, really take you on, you answer to me and only me. Above all else is loyalty to your captain.
no subject
clearing here throat, this time, she nods again with more confidence.)
Yes, sir. I'm no stranger to all sorts. I'm sure you can, uh, probably tell, heh. But I've done pickpocketing, stake-outs, buildin' weapons which you know already, and um... if you need me to bring someone in for questionin' or if they've gotten "out of line" and need to be put "back in line", I do that, too. And well, of course, assassinating anyone or destroy anythin' you need me to.
no subject
[He squeezes her shoulder again before letting go. It's been a while since he's been in a position like this. He's missed it.]
I'm going to speak plainly. I think my time amongst those below us has finished. You can either come with me or stay on my order. Report back anything interesting you hear from Bonnet and Blackbeard, and any of their brigade. But you'd have to act with discretion. Tell no one.
no subject
as for blackbeard, she had only spoken to him once and has yet to see him give any orders. or... do anything. or he's been doing a lot of things behind the scenes, whose to say? point being, he hadn't made that much of an impression on her. out of the three, izzy caught more of her attention and felt more like a leader. the expression that was once carefree and childish switches a little more harden -- a look of solider. )
I'll stay. I think it'd be better if I keep playin' the role like nothing's happenin'. I'll be your eyes and ears and let ya know if something is worth mentionin'.
(jinx then peers down below them of the pirate crew doing more doodling and chatting. there's a light smirk on her face now.)
Whiiiiich might not be anythin' with how they are but I'll keep discrete.
no subject
Izzy sees the shift in her and recognizes it for what it is. Maybe he pulls himself to stand a little straighter as well. Rigid with structure. Training. Rules. War. All of it drilled into flesh and blood the hard way. He's got enough scars in his skin to prove it. He thinks Jinx may, too.]
Good. That settles it, then. That's your first mission, Ms... so you have a surname?
no subject
Nnnope! The name's always been Jinx and nothin' else.
no subject
..
Right, you have your orders. Hold fast, Jinx.
[Izzy nods and gives himself another beat to linger before he leaves. He’s got some uncomfortable work to do, now.]
