The set up is not much different from last time, with food and drinks set up at tables on the side of the stage that can be rearranged for when it's time to do something more creative. The difference a prop wall has been pulled onto to the stage, proudly displaying everyone's flags.

Grab a drink and some food and be ready to reconnect with your marvelous mates!

[ It's patently ridiculous to be getting jealous of someone for filling the roll that she had deliberately left vacant. But the jealousy is evident as Darcy's Roman features as she settles in for some brooding, folding her arms. ]

Well. I'll have to find her. And probably kick her ass. Potential doesn't mean shit, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

[Izzy laughs, how can he not. Bright and light and barked before he presses his knuckles lightly to his fist.]

And Stede talked me into staying, I thought I mentioned. You don't have to like him, but he has earned my loyalty.

[A soft hum. Fair enough, he guesses. He doesn't love it but whatever.]

[ Darcy shimmers back into visibility. Her ears are still a little pink, but the worst of her embarrassment has faded. She hadn't moved from where she was standing beside him. ]

You're really going to give up the ability to lord your superior officer shit over me?

[ She asks. It's half a joke. But... nods eventually. ]

It's probably... not a bad idea. You know, with everything we talked about. Might be nice for you to... do shit that isn't about Blackbeard for once.

[ninetoes]

[A grunt. Izzy crosses his arms but it isn't defensive. It just is. Vulnerable, maybe.]

He's made it pretty clear my services are no longer required.

[Which feels like a knife in the throat, but it is what it is. Maybe Darcy is right. Maybe it's time.

It's just.. it would mean having to find out who Izzy Hands is when he isn't focused in complete to Blackbeard. How terrifying.]

[ A nudge of his shoulder with hers. ]

'm sorry. I... get it. But you deserve better than following around someone who doesn't [ love you ] require your services.

A few months ago I would have gutted anyone who dared say that to me. But-

[and it's a big pause as he wars with himself. Both in the act he would have to perform and the admittance. It's a lot. Too much. There's already guilt pooling in his chest. Then again, he's justified. He has every reason. It's pathetic to be clinging on like this, grow up, Izzy.]

[ Darcy was her fencing team's designated 'break up with him'-sayer back home, after all. Even if she didn't have a vested interest in seeing Izzy happy and not moping about Ed. ]

And you're not allowed to gut me for at least a month. I stuck my neck out to ask Jenny not to murder you.

[Izzy opens his mouth to speak but whatever it was he was going to say disappears immediately on mention of Jenny.]

She said she wasn't going to do it anyway. So I don't know how helpful it actually was or whatever, but, you know.

[It is so fucking wild that someone would just think to protect him? Just because? When the fuck has that ever been a thing and it not been Edward.]

I guess we'll see.

[It is a lovely display of loyalty, though. Feels good.]

[ Genuinely pretty concerning that wanting him not to die seems to be such a big deal to him, but.

Darcy goes quiet beside him, looking out at the rest of the meeting. ]

[He'll simmer in that for a moment. It's nice. Low bar, maybe, but someone not wanting him to die, specifically saying it, specifically doing something about it.. you don't hear that often in his line of work. Not for men like him. Not that many would have to opportunity to get close enough to try but he's also had his fair share of brushes with certain doom.]

We'll do the tattoo tomorrow. Instead of practice.

[ She lets him go without comment. Watches the argument unfold from a distance- Blackbeard getting involved, Izzy storming out. For a moment she very nearly follows him out, but...

Stede is her Captain. Darcy needs to stay here for him. Izzy will find her or message later if he needs her. Not much else to do but stand around until it's over. ]
