The moon and the sun
Who: Klaus Hargreeves & You
What: September catchall
When: End of September
Where: Various locations
Warnings: A lil cut, a lil trauma. That's probably all? Who knows. This is Klaus
Deck
Klaus is staring out over the railing, bottle of alcohol in hand at this point and not really that worried about it. He's trying to grapple with a lot of thoughts that have been popping up and hoping that if he ignores them enough or drinks them away, he doesn't have to think about them too hard. Part of him is really starting to look at his childhood and all of the trauma they collectively went through and he'd really rather just not think too much about things he can't actually control. Like where is Allison? What the hell is he going to do? Is his mother alive now? Is he Amish?
If someone he knows comes up, they'll be met with a quick shift in posture and a smile that seems maybe a little more forced than usual. If he doesn't know them, he'll just casually look over with a quick smile and a wave. "Nice night, huh?" All of them are, he guesses. So far. It's not a lie, really.
Some more Karaoke
Klaus is not sorry for his karaoke performing ass. He's gotten the loudest, most visually uncomfortable patterns he can find for it most of the times. Sometimes he can be found in whatever black (or as much black as possible) outfits he can find depending on his mood. Either way, he's here to have a fun time.
a. He's dragging people in for duets or at least for an audience and he's not sorry if he's grabbed someone and made them deal with his karaoke. At least he's a fairly good singer and he's making a show out of it. It's fun, right?
b. If someone's just wandering in on him being by himself, they will definitely get a notice once he's done whatever 90s or 80s song he's decided to sing that night. They'll get a quick, "Oh hey. Hi. You wanna pick a song? Do you have requests? Do you do duets?
Mikabo
Klaus can be found shoving as much hibachi in his mouth as is possible. He has avoided the knives so far except for one mishap which is tied tightly with the sleeve of his shirt that he definitely ripped off for the purpose of wrapping the cut until he can get down to the infirmary to get it looked at.
He's not going to let something so small as a gash on his arm stop him from eating food. Who do you think he is?
Wildcard
Whatever you want, bb. Bring it to me. Throw me for a whirlwind. Yeet me into the sun.

"I like that one," she says.
no subject
"Oh hey. Didn't see you there. How's it going? You coming to do some karaoke?"
no subject
At the suggestion she participate in karaoke, she hesitates and then shakes her head. "No, you're doing just fine."
no subject
"You sure? I think there's gotta be some good duets and we can bring stuff to throw at people if you don't want them to come in." Also he's just trying to get her to come and do some karaoke. It's a lot of fun. "Finish your hot chocolate and then we're going to sing something. I'll sing a new song until then." Yep. That's the plan now. He glances at the song choices before settling on Hit Me Baby One More Time.
no subject
She did have fun singing with Skulduggery before, but it had taken her a moment to really warm up to it. But instead of pressuring too much, Klaus goes on to sing another. And it's of course one Ava recognizes, able to hum along from the safety of her seat. By the end, she is quietly mouthing the lyrics.
"I never understood the meaning of that song," she admits at the end.
no subject
Klaus shrugs. "I don't know. I just sing the songs. But I've used a lot of songs for wise sayings with my cult. It's been a while, though." He likes the song, though and it's always fun to go with the pop style of things.
"So what song do you wanna sing?"
no subject
Which is to say she is delaying a bit. Because she's not sure she even wants to get up there.
But maybe it will make her feel a bit better. To let things out. Ava stands, drifts through the seats toward the stage.
"How about Jar of Hearts?"
no subject
Klaus grins as she starts up toward the stage. “Jar of Hearts is a pretty great song, so definitely.” He’s just happy to do something fun and get Ava out of her comfort zone and feeling a little better.
no subject
Which is a bit of why she likes him.
Even with a song selected, she's hesitant to take the microphone as she waits for it to start up. Casting another nervous glance around to make sure nobody has snuck in within the last few milliseconds, she swallows hard. Suddenly her mouth feels a bit dry. She knows she's not a terrible singer, but this always manages to make her nervous.
"I know I can't take one more step towards you," she begins softly. "Cause all that's waiting is regret... Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore. You lost the love I loved the most," she ducks her head a bit, trying to avoid looking at Klaus in case he's looking at her too closely. But at least if he makes fun of her, she can hit him.

But now he's being pulled in. He's so startled by this turn of events that he forgets to protest it immediately. He's already halfway to the stage by the time he manages to say, "No, really. I don't... I'd rather not, thank you..."
no subject
"So what do you think?"
no subject

He's too busy pondering that he doesn't reply back to the rest right away. Not until the name Sinatra catches his attention again.
"I don't think I could do Frank Sinatra proper justice. I'm no crooner." He does have a good voice, though he's a little too shy to admit it. He might do better than he thinks, but good luck convincing him.
"I suppose the Beatles will do? If we must."
no subject
Klaus shrugs. "Eh. He's not here to judge us. I'm sure it'd be fine." But if he wants to do the Beatles, then sure. He can manage the Beatles. "All right." He squints as he tries to think of a song that might be fun to sing. "Is Help! okay for you? Should we go with something else?"
no subject
"Planning any celebrations for the day? It will be here soon." How shocked would he be to know that it will make him and Number 6 the same age?
"I do know that one, so I suppose it will be fine. Before you start it, tell me what your name is?"
no subject
"I don't know. I'm trapped here, so none of the usual stuff will happen. No phone call from Mom. I don't think she even exists anymore back home since Dad reset the universe." He waves it off like it's not a big deal. Everything's fine. He's so fine. He puts on his best smile to cover it up.
"Oh. I'm Klaus. Klaus Hargreeves."

yep!!

He does have ridiculously bright neon prints from Tommy Bahamas, but also still wearing his jet black full 'lobster' Japanese 1582 plate mail armor, because what is peace? No really? No really.
That's... that's actually his first song. He makes a vague sort of peace or maybe a Y hand symbol. "This is for Yasuke." Peace bro, wherever you are.
And sings. He's so passionate. He even dances. He's got a good voice somehow too matching Edwin Starr's in bass.
But after the fact, he sits arm folded, still in full armor with katana on, and sitting on the chair like he still hasn't mastered how chairs work. Such a weirdo.
no subject
Who is Yasuke? He doesn't know, but it doesn't matter. This has been the best.
When he's finished, Klaus claps. "Wow. Amazing." He laughs at the way he's sitting, getting up and shifting into sitting on the arm of the chair. Who needs to sit in chairs normally anyway?
"Do you do a lot of karaoke?"
no subject
"I'm trying." A nod! "It's Japanese, and I feel an obligation out of the future I wanted Japan to achieve." That's weird to say, so don't feel bad if it's confusing and not really making a lot of sense. "You?"
no subject
He pauses. "Then again, I don't know that there's a lot to do here, so..." Shrugging, Klaus considers something before scrambling back up on stage. "If you want to do a duet after this one, we can. I think time's almost up, but there's stuff to do afterwards." Unless whoever he is doesn't want to hang out too much.
Either way, Klaus is just gonna sing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
no subject
Go forth Klaus, be your crazy self!
Nobunaga's laughing with good cheer at the end of it, but he declines duets for now. "It's more intimate than sexual intercourse to me," he admits maybe TOO(?!) honestly! "I've only ever done duets with my pageboy before, so I'll have to really work my way up to it." But he's game for doing something else! Whether more drinks, chatting, or finding mischief around the ship, whatever there is to do. "You can join my singing club." It's less a club and more a casual group of people Nobuanga appoints into joining him or each other for fun, so... yeah. "Venti would probably be up for learning duets. Maybe Tear." At least he understands that others don't view it the same way he does.
no subject
“You have a pageboy? Huh. But sure? I mean, I don’t see singing as that intimate, but if it is for you, I won’t press it.”
Klaus has absolutely no idea who Venti or Tear are. Is Tear a person? It seems to be, but Klaus can’t say. “Sure. I mean, I haven’t really done group activities since childhood. We don’t have to do outfits, do we? I can wear whatever I want?”
They carefully jump down off the stage. “Do you drink or? Cause I probably need a little something.”
no subject
"Do you even have Demon King lobster armor?" A headshake. "No, no, wear whatever. Venti and Tear do the same."
As for explaining the singing thing... "Ranmaru is a professional performer. Noh actor, singer, beautiful in his own right." A wry kind of dirty grin. Poor Ranmaru. "He tries to outdo me, show me up, prove that the future will truly be better than its blood soaked past. It's a -- highly emotionally charged thing where I'm from. Demon Kings can't go around playing the part of songbirds in love unless they are truly, truly wanting to depart with their heads. Even for one as arrogant as I am..."
He's just gonna drink the Pina colada okay okay.
"Perhaps when I adjust more to here." At least he said when, not if.
no subject
He considers that, but it probably makes about as much sense as most of his stories do to other people right now. "I mean, you could just do Spice Girls and that's not even love songs. We could actually use those other two guys so we could have all the parts." He counts in his head - Ginger, Sporty, Baby, Scary, and Posh. "We need one more. For most of the girl and boy bands, actually. Yeah. Backstreet Boys and NSYNC both have five people, too. We could manage TLC, but someone would be extra. And Destiny's Child, too." He shrugs. None of that probably makes sense to him, but...eh. "They aren't generally love songs anyway? Unless it doesn't matter."
But that's fine. "Is that guy like your boyfriend then or? Like is that not a thing." But he nods at the 'when' part of things before starting towards the door. "We can go to the pool bar, I guess. To get more drinks."
