Arcade
[ with a growing frustration after last month's excursion (the entire ordeal with jade),
tear has begun frequenting the arcade more and more in search of a distraction.
she has tried, without success, to get high scores -- and to nab some plushies from the claw machine.
it was a problem she'd had when she'd first arrived, but she's decided against giving up.stubborn? who, her?
so far all she's managed is another dead iguana. ]
Proud Maid
[ she breathes a sigh, eyes narrowing in distaste at the spills left around john's.
the lack of cleanliness is bothersome to her, on a functional level -- but also a somewhat personal one.
it was just plain irksome to see people disrespecting common areas, after all.
an inconvenience for fellow passengers. at the core, for tear, it was the principle of the thing.
so, at various points during october, tear can be found taking initiative to try and clean messes from time to time.
she's even gone and reclaimedfonomena 's deck brush, for use if need be!
and if she'sfeeling extra niceable, then she may even run people some drinks from time to time.
old habits die hard, right? ]
Mysterious Melodies (action)
' Tue rei zue croa riu tue zue... '
[ tear sings her first hymn as she wanders the ship, voice rising;
a scale of notes in an ancient tongue.
the melody feels cloying, lingering in the mind and body of its listeners,
imbuing a heavy desire to sleep. many around the ship will find passengers suddenly
falling to the ground around them, wordlessly curling into unconsciousness wherever they are.
those with a resistance to magic, or a high level of strength, will find their body
aching. their movements growing sluggish, weighed -- though they remain fully conscious.
the sharp click of high heels follows the end of her song, as a certain melodist enters
into the room or hall. she'd wanted to explore uninterrupted with the cover of night,
but there were just too many pesky passengers around to do that.
after everything that happened with last month's exploration, tear figured it was time that she
do some exploring of her own. ]
OOC please feel free to assume she's attacking you or doing something bad honestly.
like wow how sus?? um??
Mysterious Melodies (chill)
[ lately, she's found herself wandering through the halls at night, unable to sleep.
it wasn't exactly a new occurrence (she'd been struggling with it for a while now, really,
even back home), but she's come to develop something of a habit of pacing.
like most nights, tear takes to wandering, singing to herself when she thinks she might be alone.
the nostalgia of her fonic hymns are a comfort in the fresh loneliness of night, and the sound of them
carries, wafting through the halls to those who may be nearby.
on these nights her melodies are carried without magic, without focus: they're just songs for the time being,
wafting and trailing throughout the ship. ]
Mysterious Melodies
So instead he walks around the ship, not quite pacing, but it's certainly not a relaxing evening constitutional either. Mentally he's trying to clear his processors, but he can't help but notice the singing. Well at least someone else is awake.]
Good evening.
AAA hi !!! o/
on her own like that -- at least, by a stranger. she can't help but be
surprised by how many people stay up at night here. ]
... G-good evening.
[ tear tries not to stare as she takes in this person's appearance,
having thought at first that he was clad in armor, only to notice on a second
glance that they seemed to be made of wire and metal. she'd never
seen anything like this before (at least, nothing so sophisticated and
humanoid). ]
I'm sorry if I disturbed you. I didn't think there would be anyone out here.
Hello there \o
You needn't apologize. Very few would be out here at this time of night, I don't sleep so I have little to do with myself at such an hour. And you're far more talented than some I've come across.
[He's not going to throw knives at her like he did to the last person he came across with a guitar.]
My name is Maximilien.
they can be throwing knife buddies ' v'
[ she offers him a smile, her interest piqued by maximilien: both by what he
is, although she won't blatantly ask at first, and by the habit he mentions. ]
To be honest it's difficult to keep occupied at these times of night lately, with everyone else
asleep. Although it's much more peaceful this way...
[ her attempt at a joke ]
Is there anything you do to stay busy here? It's so different from my own world
that I'm still adjusting.
Oh he'd like that
It's strange, I would think a ship of this size, with less than a hundred people, it would be easy to maintain some solitude, to go a while without seeing anyone else. But somehow it seems that even on a ship with multiple decks there still are somehow people everywhere. You can hardly walk down the hall without seeing someone.
It's truly only at night where there's even a hint of that.
[As for her question though...] Unfortunately I don't have any sage advice on that front. There's the library, which is entirely fiction, and there's a physical training area if you wish to engage in such things. But other than that the options dwindle.
sorry for the slow! Q AQ
[ she frowns at the mention of its selection -- at
the lack of diversity on the shelves. ]
I have no idea why the captain would do that. Excluding
non-fiction is just odd...
[ she'd often wondered if there was some sort of meaning
behind that choice: if it was to try and mold them some way, or to
keep them from some kind of information. ]
I haven't been to the physical training area yet, but that sounds
like it'd be useful. I feel like I could use some target-practice
training, myself.
no subject
Granted it would be interesting to see the disparities between them.
[Another, less charitable thought is that with that much information there's a good percentage of the passengers who would never leave the library and the place would be filled with the sound of frantic note taking.]
I know at some point Darcy set something up with training dummies, but I haven't been back recently. Also the guns from my world would destroy them and I think she'd be less than pleased.
