[semi-open] we got to get up and organize

Who: Team Mutiny (including infiltrators, double agents, and those attempting to play both sides)
When: Early February
Where: Cabin 159
What: The second semi-official meeting of mutinous malcontents (say hi, mutinous malcontents!)
Warnings: Game-typical angst; other warnings to be added in reply headers as needed

She's passed the word quietly, asked others to do the same. Been as careful as possible not to let the word spread any further. With no other good options presenting themselves, she's asked Lieutenant Tayrey to host the meeting in her cabin.

It's been just over a month since they last met on the subject. Time and past to reconvene.

"I'm not sure where it originates. I heard it from Darcy and Skulduggery not long after I arrived here, but I don't know what evidence they based it on. With that said ... I don't believe Skulduggery and the Captain were," Dimitri grimaces, "involved at that point. Skulduggery is capable and competent. Darcy cares for him, but she has no love for the Captain. So in the absence of ... compromising factors ... I believe they gave the matter due diligence.

"Moreover, the excursions do seem to suit the pattern. I arrived during a month of magical rain, which they were told by the Captain was a side effect of a failed working. The excursion the month before was a 'summer camp', where nothing violent occurred. And on excursion after it ... we were swarmed by walking corpses with the faces of our loved ones."

One of those corpses lurches up behind Cass. Dimitri blinks, and tries to ignore it.

"Then there was the excursion to the island, which I imagine must have taken some power." Which brings another point to mind ... one Dimitri's not sure he wants to write down. "The Captain spent a month after that neglecting the ship, and things began to disintegrate, though in part that was also due to Friday's absence. And while it wasn't his doing, that month ended in a bloodbath -- and then things were almost quiet for almost two months, until the resort."

Dimitri gestures. "It's not a certain pattern, but it fits. And ... many passengers seem listless and absent before they disappear."

"No. Not all. There may be other factors at play; it may not be the only reason people vanish. But in my time here -- when someone becomes less active, and retreats from the people they're close to ... not long after, they disappear for good."
