We didn't choose the pirate life
Who: Stede Bonnet, Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, Lucius Spriggs, Skulduggery, John Watson, Darcy LeJeune, Diana York, Ava, Yuri Lowell, Clarke Griffin, Beetlejuice, Jinx, Jim Jimenez and Hiram
What: Pirate Crew Meet & Greet
When: 5/27
Where: Bellona Theater
Warnings None yet
Everyone at some point will get an invite to the theater, either pressed into their hand or shoved under their door. The stage is set with black curtains hanging in the background and on each seat there will be a little gift basket with a black ribbon, a name, a candy bar and a black pen with a little spiral notebook.
In each notebook, Stede has written a little note of encouragement. He will wait for them all to find their seats before he begins.

If you're implying what I think you are... Trust me when I say that involving yourself in the Teyvat gods is... not the healthiest life choice one can make. That has never been a viable contender.
Besides, I don't want to be a god in just one reality. Anyone can do that. That's boring.

...shit. but doing her utmost to keep the calmest, impassive and highly unimpressed expression on her face. if there's a prickle of sweat gathering amongst the baby hairs at the back of her neck, it's neither here nor there. )
How many realities do you want to rule?

Crush every living creature beneath your thumb? Create a utopia? Lock yourself behind another impenetrable door and just watch? Do you have some sort of noble, righteous cause, or do you just want power to say you have it?

And if you can't figure out a way to acquire knowledge without hurting people, you don't deserve it.

So. If you ever manage to become a god, and take over all the realities and learn everything there is to know... Then what? You think that's going to leave you happy and content? Or just more lonely and bored than you were when you started.

( and for a good few moments, clarke lapses into silence. some of the firm lined animosity even washes from her face, replaced by contemplation and silent thought. she doesn't look at darcy off to the side, just sits back in her auditorium seat and stares at the profile of the captain's manufactured face until — )
...I feel sorry for you.

[it doesn't even sound dismissive it sounds like an actual moment of confusion.]

Even if you think you do, it's never going to be enough. And that's a tragedy beyond one even you can create.

[ For all she'd been listening and watching, it needed to be said. She'd seen enough ghosts clambering for something without knowing what they'll do once they get it to recognize it, stories repeated over and over until the end is inescapable. ]
You've been doing it too long. There's nothing else left. You don't even enjoy this anymore. Do you?

honesty, thrown down like a challenge. double dog dare you, dickhead. )
...No. I'm really not.

Hm? That's nice, dear, [ She condescends right back at him, ] anything else?

What was the point of killing Friday in front of all of us? Just spectacle, or were you trying to remind everyone that you're in charge here?

( honestly, if he'd mentioned natsuno's name out loud, clarke might have made the connection. but for now this dot must remain listlessly unconnected, while two teenage girls grow perpetually more and more frustrated with the uselessness of this conversation — however honest it is or otherwise.
another beat spent surveying the captain's basic features, looking for any sort of emotional foothold — a task a lot like trying to climb glass — to prompt another question at this time. but, retreats had to be as tactical as approaches. and clarke's gaze eventually slips back to her companion. )
Come on, Darcy. Let's go.
