[OPEN] I Want it to Be, Like, Messy
Who: Sec and You
When: October
Where: All Over
Summary: Trying to Get By
Warnings: None Yet
1. I feel like no one wants me [The Pillow Pit]
Perhaps you were coming to relax a little. Perhaps you're just discovering the new door in Calgona for the first time. Perhaps the low rumbling sound coming from behind the door intrigued you.
And perhaps the handwritten sign taped to the door that said AT YOUR OWN RISK was too great a temptation to ignore.
Either way, pushing into the room with the pillow pit, what one finds is Security, sprawled out in the pit, covered by its weighted blanket, either snoring or purring. Or perhaps a mix of both! Engage, as the sign said, at your own risk.
2. And I hate the way I'm perceived [All Over]
The drones are somewhat less present right now. Or perhaps, less obvious. The Panopticon is tired, and the amount of data it's taking in on a daily basis is a lot to process. So, it's only flying a couple extra eyes right now, and even those are staying mostly out of the way. Mostly.
If you're a new passenger or a friend, there's a chance one might still drift by, orbit your head like a personal moon. Buzz near an ear, almost playfully. Since it's not focusing on piloting the whole fleet, it can puppet an individual drone to behave like a cartoon insect, or a curious puppy that happens to be about a centimeter tall and flying.
3. I only have two real friends [Bellona Theater]
Security received the trumpet months ago, but it hasn't really learned how to play it besides LOUD. But now, it's going to a part of the ship that's usually unoccupied to get some actual practice in, testing what the different finger buttons do when pressed. If you're in the area, you might here some tentative little doot-doot.
Are you a musician who can help? Are you someone with ears who wants to complain?
4. And lately, I'm a nervous wreck [Wildcard]
Find me anywhere and anytime to plot, darkersolstice on discord or plurk

And even better, it speaks. "I should have expected something like that. Mind letting go?"
no subject
She squints at the little thing, before opening her hand to release it.
"Since when could you do this trick?"
Seeing through scrying eyes is one thing, but talking? That's another altogether.
no subject
For its part, the drone is still, at peace in her grasp.
no subject
Guess who doesn't have super future drone tech.
no subject
Will that help? Fuck no.
no subject
"Perhaps the schematics might help me understand."

"A little. So it's like you have a tiny floating eyeball. Except it can hear and speak."
She opens her hand fully - the drone can fly away if it wishes.
"I'm used to such things being bigger, and more ominous, and not speaking back. So I suppose you're actually not alike at all."
no subject
The drone hovers about a foot and a half from her face.
no subject
With the little extra eyeballs, its commitment to being alert...

The wording there is very precise, of course.
"In many ways, it's exactly what I was made to be. But now, it's also who I'm choosing to be."
no subject
"It just seemed too fitting to be a coincidence. Glad to hear it's one you like."
As if she gets to talk any shit from where she is, after all.

Because people will always give things names.

And is a lot more practical. With her free hand, she picks up the assortment of food she was making into a bundle, bringing it to a table. The drone is still balanced on her other palm.
"So what, you just hang out somewhere and fly around to observe us? Making sure we don't get into trouble?"
no subject

If she crushed the drone, would it hurt? Would it feel like crushing an eye? No vitreous humor to stain a glove, but it might ache in the mind.
Maybe the schematics will tell her, if she can behave long enough to see them.
no subject
It almost sounds a little defensive, there.
no subject
She chuckles a little, and shakes her head.
"The group I was with, we'd have at least three arguments daily about something or another. Which is kind of funny to see play out when they're flinging an insult but also making sure the person doesn't get run through by an enemy."
