the lights are bright, glaring, a sterile cell with sterile bars facing a sterile hall. the prisoners with you, across from you, and no one else. no rocking of a ship in waves, nothing. just the prisoner and their prison.

time passes, one assumes. the rhythmic click of Friday’s heels down the hall. it’s almost like the ticking of a clock.]

"Do you have any idea what's happening out there? Have you seen Fever?" There's really nothing familiar about this man- not the golden skin, not the pointed ears, even the sound and intonation of his voice are that of a complete stranger. But he's speaking to Victor as if he knows him with absolute genuineness.

"Okay, um, well, everyone is in prisons and had their stuff taken, and their magic and superpowers and et cetera as well if they had them! And I guess that means knowing where all the bits of me are is magic or something because I have absolutely no idea where the rest of me is and it's really really weird! I don't know who Fever is but I can look for them if you want, I'm passing messages around a lot secretly!"

This last part is said in a loud whisper, as between confidantes.

(Let it be known that Victor doesn't recognise this man, but it sounds like they've talked before, and so he is racking his disconnected brains to try to remember who the guy is and avoid admitting that he has no idea.)
