[ Interesting. Fio repeats the name carefully. ]

"Cool Aid". Hm. Why's it called that?

[ Parts of that explanation she doesn't understand all too well mainly because of some of the bigger words. What she understands is it's some kind of powder that makes a fruit juice, which is good enough. The process sounds so simple in comparison to preparing fresh fruit juice (even though that's much healthier, not that she knows.) ]

And I would like a few packets, please!

[ There's a faint ghost of a smile, before she turns around and starts digging through a drawer and procures a few singles-version of Kool-Aid and passes them over to Fio. ]

Y'just pour one of these in a water bottle, cover it, and shake.

Oh... okay? Well, I'm glad I can help!

[ It sounds like Fio doesn't know exactly what she means by any of that, but is accepting the explanation anyway. She gladly takes the packets, shuffling through some and staring in awe at some of the different flavors. ]

Thanks again! [ A pause. ] My name's Fio, by the way.

[ ...Aw. She gives a light chuckle. ]

Rafaela. This party isn't too loud for you, is it?

Nice to meet you, Raffie!

[ No, there isn't anything wrong with Fio's hearing. As she does with nearly everyone she meets, she has granted a new nickname for Rafaela. ]

...It's a little loud. But that's okay. Everyone's having fun, so I'm happy.

It sure seems that way, doesn't it?

[ She's not convinced. Parties usually end up with a fight of some kind if she's not the one hosting them. Usually of the physical kind, with fists being flung. Not that she's going to worry a child with that knowledge. ]

I hope that you're having fun, too, in that case.

I'm having fun.

[ For the most part. Despite the noise, she enjoys the new experience and seeing all sorts of people. She tries to think of nice things, to keep smiling.

Loud noises, especially when fighting is involved, would easily drive Fio out of the room. Thankfully she hasn't been able to notice any fighting so far. She doesn't need something to remind her of how violently loud her home was when her parents argued. ]

I know you're probably busy with working and stuff... but are you having fun too? I bet you get to talk to lots of interesting people!

That’s good. But if it ever gets to a point where you’re not, I can walk with you somewhere quieter for a while. That’d be okay.

[ She glances out to the small crowd for a moment, then back to Fio with a nod. ]

I like serving drinks. It is something I was good at back home. I like listening to people. Though, with how loud it is here, it’s been a bit harder to do.

Thanks, Raffie! I think I'm okay for now.

[ But she'll keep it in mind. She would like the company, plus it'd be a little easier for her to get past the crowds, especially when mostly everyone's much taller than her. ]

You like listening to people? I like talking to people! [ Even if sometimes people don't really listen or words don't really have any meaning to them... she just likes to chatter away! ] Um... I'll try to talk a little louder!

[ She gives a little coo, and idly starts to wipe down the counter with a towel. Old habits. ]
