Watson is baffled, and it shows. What is happening. Why did he agree to this. What has he gotten himself into. Well, too late now. He takes Stede's hand.

"I suppose we shall." His eyebrows are up somewhere in the vicinity of his hairline.

For some reason that only fuels his courage. The mild surprise, not laughing at him but intrigued by what he has to offer.

Just as well as when he takes Watson's hand and leads him on the floor a new song begins to play. He is well conscious of Watson's injury, even if he doesn't know the extent of it. He takes the man's hand in his and puts the other at the small of his back to help guide him as a proper lead should.

It takes him a moment to get into the odd yet stylish syncopation of the music, but when he does the movement is mostly in small easy steps and moving mostly his shoulders. His pleasant smile grows into a grin as he's genuinely having fun.

He then gets an idea and has to lean in to speak in Watson's ear so the man can hear him over the music.

"What do you think? Try for a spin?"

What is even happening here. What is this. This is some sort of crazy dream. Watson has never danced before and not been the one leading, either, so there's that whole level of things as well.

"A spin? To this music?" Watson gives a little bit of a laugh. "Surely you can't manage it."

"Let's find out!" He is confident, but his confidence is a bit more than his ability to do so while taking Watson's leg into account stumbles only a little, especially as he tries to avoid getting stepped on as he's still barefoot.

"Sorry. Overdid that a bit. You alright?"

Watson gives a soft bark of laughter. "Yes, yes I'm fine. Are you all right?"

He's pretty sure he missed actually stepping on any toes, but it's best to make sure, right? He glances down, just to be sure. "Perhaps we should just keep things simple, hm?"
