โ€œYes, the helmet helps. Especially for filtering the sound frequencies.โ€ It doesnโ€™t need to hear the wub-wub of the bass in the music to protect the humans.

Sarge might be a little jealous. "Smells are worse," he admits. "I used to have a mask thing. That cut down on the smells. And goggles."

The thought of putting something on his face now, though, sounds kind of awful, no matter the benefits. "I'm not sure I miss them, exactly. But that part was helpful."

โ€œFor me, the best thing about the helmet is that I can opaque the faceplate and avoid eye contact and donโ€™t need to police my expression. Thatโ€™s more important than the smells or the sounds.โ€

But it knows itโ€™s priorities aren't human standard.

Good thing Sarge doesn't care about human standard priorities, huh? "That's pretty important," he agrees. The goggles and mask had done that for him, too, though he's so used to keeping a blank face now he's kind of got the opposite problem. He's just not very expressive at all. "Is that why you've been wearing it more often lately?" Post Jenny, and all.
