JUNE EVENT: CAMP
early on June 10th, Friday's morning announcements end with a request for everyone going on the latest excursion to meet her in the atrium. she seems in noticeably better spirits than she had been last time, and she leads them cheerfully to the tender. once they are all aboard, and the door is securely shut, the interior fills with gas, and, perhaps, their last thought before they slip into unconsciousness is "oh shit, not again."
passengers wake up on a rickety old school bus, driving down a dirt road surrounded by woods. what is it that they notice first? that, no matter what they were wearing before, they are now wearing a camp t-shirt and legitimately horrifyingly short shorts? the overstuffed backpack between their knees? the words "take one down and pass it around" dying on their lips? the fact that Friday is absolutely driving the bus?
or, maybe the fact that it's already slowing down, pulling up in front of a massive wooden sign, saying:
when they get out of the bus, Friday is the one to divide them up into their cabin groups, and she is the one to give the counselors their very official-looking clipboards and whistles. she explains that they are in charge, and that she will be back to pick them up in a week, and... very little else. she responds to nothing outside of whatever is on her unseen little script, and she gets back on the bus shortly after, leaving them there.
welcome to camp. let's make some summer memories!

tagging all the blue cabins (open)

She's not truly bothered by the painted words. She's just studying them and casually aware of the girl continuing to paint on cabins.
no subject
Hiya, hiya! You wanna join in the FUN?!
(is this woman the same team color as her? to jinx, she doesn't truly care but more the merrier!!)
no subject
"What is the fun, darling? The words?" She glances at the words painted on the cabin. "I believe we are on opposing teams. Not that I'm overly certain why there are teams in the first place."
no subject
(jinx sets the can of paint by her feet for now with her hands on her hips.)
Don't tell me you've never heard of it.
no subject
"Is it always words?"
no subject
(jinx skips on closer to the window and instead of just standing there to talk to this said person in a respectable distance -- she jumps up and hangs off the window. her arms draping over the cabin window's sill while keeping herself holts up.)
You reaaallly oughta try it. I bet you'll even like it.
no subject
“I suppose it’s possible I might, but…” She shrugs. “All right, then. Show me your art form.”
no subject
(and jinx just makes herself at home by crawling over the window so she can enter in her cabin. hopefully, maeve stepped aside for her to do that - if not, then jinx will just force her way inside while shoulder bumping her.)
First, you're gonna need a canvas.
(she scans around the area for a moment with a big nod to follow.)
Yep! — This room oughta do it.
(wait, what?)
no subject
Maeve arches an eyebrow. “Is there not somewhere outside?” After a beat. “At least nothing terribly derogatory and maybe just by my bed.” Cabinmates likely needed a heads up for anything else.
no subject
(maeve suggests her bed area which causes her to eye roll pretty hard. but hey, it's better than her saying no to everything - so she will take what she can get!)
Fine, fine. Bed it is. Which one is it?
no subject
She points to a bed in the middle of the room. "It's that one." Just to be clear, she walks up next to it.
no subject
(she reaches in her back pocket of her shorts to pull out a marker she swiped from the arts and crafts cabin. instead of handing it to her, jinx does an underhand toss to maeve for her to catch it.
she does with no "heads up" or warnings, just simply throwing it at her -- if she drops it, she'll just make fun of her.)

Honestly, she's not too sure what any of the words on the walls mean. She can read it. It's just that she doesn't recognize the slang. But she can also infer that it doesn't mean anything nice! Hearing the familiar cackle and seeing the blur darting by, she hesitates briefly...
Clutching her whistle, she brings it up to her mouth and forces out a high-pitched noise. ]
no subject
Hey, what the hell! You're suppose to be on my side?!
no subject
...I'm on the blue team. [ A pause. Wait, maybe that sounds a little weird with the nickname she has for Jinx. ] The... color blue. You shouldn't be messing with other people's cabins. It's not very nice...
[ Plus you wrote on her cabin too. ]
no subject
she exhales a sigh while putting bucket down at her feet as she approaches her. and she does the one thing that many, many, people don't get out of her nor get to hear her say often.)
... I'm sorry. I was just havin' some fun. I can clean it up if you want me to.
no subject
A small smile returns to her lips. She has been feeling a little tense, clutching tightly to her whistle... but she manages to ease up now. ]
We can clean up together. And maybe we can paint something a little nicer.
[ Like a giant flower or heart! Maybe they can still make it fun, without the mean words. ]
no subject
(and seeing the smile on hers just really melts her heart and ceases all the tomfoolery she was planning on doing with everyone else. jinx kneels down a bit at her level and playfully ruffles up her hair.)
And maaayybbee some monkeys eatin' bananas?
no subject
Yeah! That'll look so cute! [ She beams. Although, monkeys are a little more difficult for her to draw. She may rely on Jinx for that. ] I'll go get more paint!
[ Turning her heel to run off without thinking... maybe don't let Fio try to haul a bunch of buckets of paint over. She is not that strong... at all. ]
no subject
Oh, hey! By the way, I got a lil' surprise for you.
(jinx calls out and hopefully her voice is loud enough for it to carry fio's ears.)
no subject
A surprise?
[ Did she hear right? She looks at Jinx to see if she might be holding anything...? ]
no subject
(but then it dawns on her that she forgot the most crucial thing about her surprise and mumbles a "shit" low enough so fio wouldn't hear. well, she'll just do the alternative. catching up to her little sister, she resumes to smile while placing a hand gently on the small of her back.)
Here, I'll show ya inside.
(and then she guides her in the cabin -- immediately heading over to the construction papers and some markers before taking a seat at one of the tables.)
no subject
...Okay? Um... should I still get the paints?
no subject
(hunching over, she starts to doodle over the construction paper. it's a shame there aren't more colors that she needed to make this more visual pleasing, but this will still get her point across.
the drawing isn't top notch but once she's finishes, jinx scoots the paper over for fio to see. on it, is a drawing of a person she definitely knows fio would not recognize. but before explaining further, she gives her a moment to look over.)
