Summary: Vance has arrived and he is NOT happy about it but he's not happy about anything really so he can deal with it.
Warnings: he's very mean (and also likely to be discussing child murder because he is a child who was murdered)

( FOX ON THE RUN ) / deck

[ Vance is walking around on the deck, fists clenched and scowling at anyone who passes by. He doesn't actually talk to anyone yet because he's still used to most people not being able to see him, but he's there.

...And he's absolutely covered in dried blood that he could wash off at any time. He hasn't figured that out yet, either, so he's just. Walking around like that. ]

( PINBALL WIZARD ) / playback

[ Of course as soon as Vance finds Playback he heads straight for the pinball. On one hand, this place sucks. On the other hand, it does have pinball. And nicer machines than the one at the convenience store back home, too. Maybe it's not hell after all.

He's completely in the zone, still getting used to an unfamiliar board so he's not quite at high score tier just yet, but he's still pretty good.

And he knows when someone's lurking around nearby, despite his concentration. ]

You can watch if you want but if you throw me off I'll kick your ass. [ Said whether the nearby person was actually watching him or not. ]

( SCHOOL'S OUT ) / library

[ What a nice library. It'd be a shame if some rude boy went and sat with his shoes right on one of the tables, loudly talking to himself as he flips through a comic book.

He's just looking at the pictures, of course. What is this, school? All things considered, it's not the rudest thing he could be doing, but if there's an opportunity to be obnoxious he's going to take it. ]

( I WANNA BE SEDATED ) / outside of hurikane

[ Vance tried to get himself a drink (after half a year of being dead he deserves a good drink, he thinks) but the second he tries he gets escorted out and told to go back to Playback. He's already had plenty of fun at Playback, thank you, now he wants to have some irresponsible fun.

He stands with his hands in his pockets trying to look inconspicuous until someone who looks like they might be an adult passes by. ]

Psst. [ He leans in towards them. ] Get me a drink. I'll make it worth your while.

[ Let it be known that he has absolutely nothing to offer anyone that would make it worth their while. ]

[Really, he should have seen that coming. Prior to being dead he'd been an egotistical jackass who got in fights every other weekend, and a Deputy who totally abused his power to instigate shit.

But he also had more of a grip on his sanity and reality then, and he usually wasn't laughing so hard he's almost crying.

Vance clocks him in the side of the head sending him careening back into the arcade, the machine helpfully yelling at them to add more tokens. But at least Pratt stops laughing.]

Oh you think so?

[He doesn't even reach up to check the damage and see if he's bleeding, instead giving an unhinged smile and launching himself at Vance's middle, aiming to tackle him to the ground and start wailing on him.]

Yeah, I do!

[ He gets knocked down to the ground more easily than he'd like, but if it hurts - and it does - he doesn't show it. Can't show weakness in front of the enemy.

He gives a few relatively underpowered punches in return (it's hard to fight when you're on the ground) before trying to wrap his hands around Pratt's throat. ] Get off of me, you bag of dicks!

[Pratt is in the very rare situation where he's actually bigger than the person he's fighting, that never happens since he's pretty much travel-sized. Hovering at the periphery of his attention is the fact that he's bigger because this kid is well... a kid. And beating the shit out of a teenager is going to look terrible no matter who instigated what.

Also he's a law enforcement officer and occasionally he should probably act like it.]

You're not worth it anyway.

[He does cuff him across the jaw for good measure, mostly so the kid is distracted with that and doesn't try to knee him in the groin when he backs off him.]

Go back to fighting with pinball machines, you're apparently better at that.

[ He bites his tongue when he's hit in the jaw, but it's not too bad. Just a little bit of blood on his teeth.

When Pratt backs off, he stands up, dusting himself off. ]

Don't ever make fun of me again.

[ Said like he has any leverage here, at all. ]

[He snorts.] Don't do shit to get made fun of, and you won't have a problem.

[He backs away, trying to decide if he should leave, or just turn back to his arcade game like he doesn't give a shit. But he probably should go just so he doesn't wind up accidentally killing this kid and having Sharky and Clarke yell at him.]

Lemme know if you pick a fight with a magic user, I wanna see someone throw some fireballs.

I didn't know being fucking good at shit is worth making fun of.

[ He crosses his arms, unphased by the threat of fireballs. ]

I'll fight with anyone, anywhere, and don't you doubt it.

No one's gonna make fun of you for being good at pinball. But if you go around calling yourself pinball Vance, [He almost laughs again just saying it] that's a whole other thing man.

Pft. Yeah I know you will. Gonna end up missing a bunch of teeth with a crooked ass nose from all the beatings you're gonna get with that attitude. But good news, the buffet makes baller mashed potatoes when you need to eat only soft foods cuz of all the bruising.

[ He clenches his fist and gets ready to strike if there's another fit of laughter, but there isn't. ]

If I get my ass kicked, at least I went out with a fight instead of just letting everyone walk all over me. [ Those are the only two options, as far as he's concerned. ]

[A blink because there are so many more options buddy.] Okay you realize there's a middle ground there between being a doormat and being an asshole who walks around punching everyone. Like, you know that right?
