[event/open] NEVER HAVE I EVER
Who? Anyone who wants in
When? 8pmish during the event
Where? On the beach
What? Just a nice little icebreaker game to get to know everyone. :)
It takes a bit of work and a few rides on the tender, but there’s a neat little structure set up around where the tender has been letting passengers off.
There’s a makeshift bar out of some coolers from the sundries store and some chairs somehow dragged onto the tender, wrapped in paper to hide that it’s a bar made out of coolers and chairs.
Just that was a pain to set up, however, so the crowd seating is made up of beach towels and driftwood logs dragged down from further up the beach.
Most prominent is the makeshift banner set up behind the bar, a trail of paper taped up between two hockey sticks jammed into the sand. In big block letters (that are only slightly cramped near the end) is written the theme of this little get-together:
8PM - “NEVER HAVE I EVER”
The makeshift bar is crowded with glasses with drinks already poured. Who did that and when? Uh... Someone in a Hawaiian shirt, right?
Right, anyway. There’s April taping another piece of paper to the sticks of the banner, and when there’s enough people around, whether or not they’re actually here for the game, the rules are loudly announced for all in earshot:
Simple enough, right?
Honesty is not magically enforced, so it’s entirely up to your character if they choose to drink or not, or explain why or why not they’re drinking. Have fun! Learn about your fellow passengers!
[RULES FOR US, THE PLAYERS:
- Top levels are for your character making their ‘never have I ever’ statement
- Top levels are then replied to with your character drinking or not drinking, whatever you feel is notable
- From there, have people react/ask further questions/etc to those replies, thread as normal.
Every character gets ONE ‘never have I ever’ top post unless the response to this post is abysmal.]

Right, anyway. There’s April taping another piece of paper to the sticks of the banner, and when there’s enough people around, whether or not they’re actually here for the game, the rules are loudly announced for all in earshot:
- One person states something they have never done, in the form of: “Never have I ever...”
- If you HAVE done that thing, you take a drink
- Elaborate if you want
- Repeat with the next person
Simple enough, right?

a very conscious swirl of her cup, and then a small sip. the name of the game really should be changed to "getting shitfaced and facing your demons" but okay... )

Maybe that means she should be drinking, but instead she finds herself staring at Clarke, and her brows furrow. It's...not exactly a judgemental look this time, but a questioning one.]

clarke's... well on her way to drunk. and tired. and doesn't really want to expell the energy to explain — i was doing what i thought was best for everyone, it was a good thing because i was being hunted, i was hurt and couldn't look at their faces anymore — her why's. doesn't want to fight, least of all publicly (the diner had sucked), and so just... doesn't feed the flame. won't glower or bark out what do you want?
simply raises her coconut cup in acknowledgement and takes another drink, regardless of what the question was that's just been asked. )

It's the weird pantomime of a toast that sparks Rita's irritation, though, and turns Rita's look from an in-between to fully judgemental. You know...again.]
no subject
actually, clarke thinks that kinda tracks at this point. but she's entirely too tipsy for this by now, like a wall of all-rum-no-mixer has crashed into her full force and ... for once it's all too easy not to engage. just bodily turns in her seat precariously perched on driftwood and tunes into a conversation closer to her. )

Rita is at least not quite so tactless and petty as to bring up any pointed questions related to Clarke's mass-murder in this game. There'd be no point to that. So it's just awkward not-talking, instead.]
