[event/open] NEVER HAVE I EVER

What? Just a nice little icebreaker game to get to know everyone. :)


It takes a bit of work and a few rides on the tender, but there’s a neat little structure set up around where the tender has been letting passengers off.

There’s a makeshift bar out of some coolers from the sundries store and some chairs somehow dragged onto the tender, wrapped in paper to hide that it’s a bar made out of coolers and chairs.

Just that was a pain to set up, however, so the crowd seating is made up of beach towels and driftwood logs dragged down from further up the beach.

Most prominent is the makeshift banner set up behind the bar, a trail of paper taped up between two hockey sticks jammed into the sand. In big block letters (that are only slightly cramped near the end) is written the theme of this little get-together:

8PM - “NEVER HAVE I EVER”

The makeshift bar is crowded with glasses with drinks already poured. Who did that and when? Uh... Someone in a Hawaiian shirt, right?

Right, anyway. There’s April taping another piece of paper to the sticks of the banner, and when there’s enough people around, whether or not they’re actually here for the game, the rules are loudly announced for all in earshot:

1. One person states something they have never done, in the form of: “Never have I ever...”


2. If you HAVE done that thing, you take a drink


3. Elaborate if you want


4. Repeat with the next person

Simple enough, right?

Honesty is not magically enforced, so it’s entirely up to your character if they choose to drink or not, or explain why or why not they’re drinking. Have fun! Learn about your fellow passengers!

[RULES FOR US, THE PLAYERS:
- Top levels are for your character making their ‘never have I ever’ statement
- Top levels are then replied to with your character drinking or not drinking, whatever you feel is notable
- From there, have people react/ask further questions/etc to those replies, thread as normal.

Every character gets ONE ‘never have I ever’ top post unless the response to this post is abysmal.]

Erin takes a shot instantly and makes a face. Rum really isn't her poison but it's in the spirit of things.

"Tried it when I was a tiny proto-lesbian," she explains. "And then later as an Advanced Lesbian, for money or favors sometimes. No regrets but I'm out of that business these days. It was barely any fun when I was a colossal bitch and now it's no fun at all."

"Alright," Erin says with a little goblin smile. "Cup check y'all: never have I ever been hurt by my own weapons. And yeah, that means someone taking your knife, shooting yourself with your own gun, magic blows up in your face, whatever."

Her mood is playful but Erin wants to see who'll fess up to it - and maybe who could use instruction on how to not have that happen again. That whole thing with the zombies she keeps hearing about has her thinking that folks could use some basic tips if they don't have 'em already installed.

It seems like the only things he can think of now are the incredibly niche things he's gone through, and that's not even how the game works, it's about what he hasn't done. But then, there's plenty he hasn't done - truly hasn't done, knowing how much of his life was made up now - that either comes off super depressing, or would invite an explanation he super doesn't want to give. And then everything else, he doesn't want to do something so world or time specific that it cuts out the people on this ship who that may not apply to...

That or everyone here is a bunch of murder happy freaks, which honestly is still a win for April because there's bound to be a few of them who are fun and not weird about it.]
